to hear my "emoticons".

...like having Orson Wells guard your refrigerator?  I'm taking into consideration Mr Citizen Kane is dead, as well as fat, in my simile.

Go around "moralists", not "escorts"?

...I think both in this case though.  If this were a webite about chauffeurs, body guards, an entourage or cheap Ford cars, I would totally agree.

Absolutely.  This is not a one dimensional discussion board.  Moral issues come up frequently.  Outing a hobbyist, attacking an escort are both moral issues.

One can be a hobbyist and still oppose war, rape, spousal abuse, corruption, poverty etc., etc., etc.  There are many things on which one must take a stand, moral or otherwise, that are not affected by whether one hobbies.

Morality isn't limited to family values crowd and the religious right.

Morality varies by society and culture, as we are now finally realizing with our interaction with the islamic world. Sub-culture, which the modern hobbying community is one, can also develop their own morality, which sometimes can survive the ridicule and oppresion of the greater society.  Believe it, or not, the early Christians in 1st century Rome were labeled immoral because they recognized only one god.

Morality is simply acting in accordance with an accepted set of acceptable behaviors.  The hobby has its own set of such:

- treat people with respect and dignity.
- don't force anyone to do anything they are not willing to do.
- everyone should have fun.

Sure the activity of the hobby runs contrary to the dominant morality of today, but it doesn't mean that their can't be moral watchdogs in the hobby.

We might not agree with society on the morality of sex-for-money and so disobey the laws.  There are hobbyists and providers who consider it wrong but do it anyway and live with the conflict, anger and anguish.  Then there are sociopaths who don't care, and the miscellaneous personality disorders.

From what I see, the latter two are a small minority of people in the hobby, though there will always be more of those found in illegal activities than in the general population for obvious reasons.

So there's still morality to the hobby, and if anything, having it could give comfort to the first and second group of people, and it's what gives them enough trust to actually have a community and work around the latter two.

There's always a need for advice here including moral advice.  That's different from moralizing, which is hardly ever welcomed outside of fundamentalist boards.

Orson Wells is no longer fat.  Just big boned.  That's JBB in acronym-speak.

Doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in the rest of your assertion.

Except on an "escort" board, where all human relations have got to be abnormal, I guess the term would be "insertion."

I think you missed reading the original post regarding your redundent statement.  But your's is an inspiring assertion, none the less.

Or something like ;) at the bottom of your post.  Hard to hear the tone you meant to put it in.  I thought it was a little out of character.

You can hear smiley faces?  Wow.  And all this time I just thought they were tacky.

Tone of voice and facial expression carries a lot of the message that's completely lost in a post.

Unless you're a very good writer.  The emoticons aren't there just for tackiness.
