I try to make it a habit to ask some things on the way out the door or in the thank-you email:
- Is it ok if I book you again? (Probably better in email) - can I use you as a reference? - if yes, what are the boundaries? Some providers will provide a limited number and/or require the ref to be within the last X months

I think to join P411 you need 2 provider references, if I am not mistaken (?). I do not charge for references but that is completely up to the provider, never assume! I think the providers that give you a reference have to be current on their membership and in good standing with P411 also to be a reference. Every provider is going to be different so really up to each individual. I personally will be a reference after one visit and I do not charge, but again, every gal is going to be different how she runs her business. Best of luck!!
From P411's application page: "In order to set up your Preferred411 account we may need personal information such as your name, phone number, and work information. The only exception is if you have at least two references from active P411 companions who are well-established in the community. Any personal information collected during the verification process is destroyed once we are able to approve your account."
I had limited success with P411 [a lot of providers won't accept it as a reference], so I let my membership expire. Instead, I'm a member of a few agencies, which has worked out well for me, i.e. able to meet new ladies without repeated verification.
