I lost my virginity when I was 23 when an older girl (she was 29) from work invited me over one Friday to her apartment because her roommates were gone and she was alone. I had kind of suspected she was into me but I put it out of my head until she asked me to come over. Not wanting to misread the situation, I didn't know if she just wanted some company.. we just sat on the couch hanging out, eating pizza, & watching a 5 hour marathon about evil monkeys on Animal Planet.  Finally she couldn't wait any longer and admitted she was into me and that night I admitted I was a virgin because my last girlfriend was when I was a 16 year old high school sophomore and she wouldn't put out.

I've had a lot of conversations with gals, both hobby and civie, about their first experiences and they were all, with slight exception, pretty negative experiences.  The best were rather inept and often painful, but innocent.  The worse were about as awful as could be:  rape, incest, etc.

I was very young when I lost my virginity, too young to even understand what sex truly meant.

I dated the same guy all through high school so we did the deed when I was a sophomore. He couldn't even put it in all the way. Ah memories.

My first boyfriend was my youth pastor. I gave it up at Bible Camp. It was very romantic and wonderful. It hurt some, but I couldn't have asked for a better first time. He was a great guy and we were together for about 4 years.

I can think of a couple of reasons why that could be, but it would be indelicate to cite them.
