Ok, this question may seem a little silly, so hear me out...
By and large, I have quit smoking regular cigarettes. I may have a one or two on the weekends when I am out with friends who smoke, but for the most part, I go most days completely smoke free. I do, however, smoke e-cigarettes now pretty regularly. In case you're unfamiliar with what those are, they look like traditional cigarettes, but they do not emit smoke. Instead, you recharge them and refill them, and they emit an odorless vapor. They contain nicotine and flavoring (like vanilla, cherry, coffee, etc). But again, they do not smell or taste anything like regular cigarettes...hence, I never smell or taste like a smoker. I have used my e-cigarette in front of clients, so I'm pretty sure that's why I was labeled as such, but many are very surprised that I even use those because it just never crossed their minds that I smoked anything.
I'm not mad at being marked as a smoker on my profile. I mean, I did smoke for a long time, but was always hypervigilant about not smelling of smoke. But now...I suppose I am in a bit of a grey area. It's not that I never smoke, but I don't do it with the regularity that most people use to qualify someone as a regular smoker. Then again, I do smoke e-cigarettes...but...they're smokeless! In the end, I suppose this isn't so important, but I'm just curious as to what the consensus among the peanut gallery is here at TER, and if it makes a huge difference.
You might think e-cigs are odorless, but it sure seems like I could smell the ones I've seen friends using. It's not nearly as strong as normal cigarettes, but there is something there.
I have to admit even just the sight of cigarettes is a real turn-off to me personally, electronic or not.
I appreciate your efforts though to keep the scents of smoking out of session, and I wish you luck quitting.
I suppose odorless is a bit of an overstatement. They usually smell like the flavor of the cartridge used. I usually use the vanilla or coffee one, which personally I think are nice and mild smells.
I guess what I meant is that they don't linger or stick to anything. The vapor does have a light scent, but after about 5 minutes or so, it's gone.
e-cigs generally are odorless. My friend uses them insides stores and malls and no one ever says anything nor smells anything (as long as nobody sees him use it).
I used to be a smoker. But quit cold turkey 5 months ago.
You're a social smoker.
If you are totally careful to not smoke days before an appointment and have on clean clothes and washed hair, no client will likely ever know. But I have heard that guys can taste it through oral sex.
E cigarettes are not cigarettes. They're not smoke so I seriously doubt anyone could ever detect that smell on or in you.
...I don't like to see providers who smoke. They can brush their teeth and use mouthwash, but their place smells, as well as their hair and clothing. And they can't use mouthwash on their pussy.
None of that applies to you so I'd consider you a non-smoker.
that smokers receive so much negativity. Smoke away honey, it doesn't take away your beauty or sex appeal. IMHO I'm a lungman by profession and i smoke. ( i enjoy it ) From a health stand point, i'm glad your using the e cigs. ( gonna give them a try myself )
However, if you smoke cigarettes in your personal life, that is, when you are by yourself, then that's a different matter. I have a friend that also used those e-cigarettes. He only does it because he wants to quit smoking, and will occasionally smoke a real cigarette in his personal life. He tells me sometimes he has to puff that sucka out because it wasn't hitting as he expected it to be, LMAO.
He also says he enjoys cigarettes, and probably will not quit. I mean, if your using an e-cigarette in a room, how is that technically smoking, LMAO. What you do in your personal time, that's your business. Some clients have allergies or allergic reactions to cigarettes, not sure about e-cigarette. I wouldn't label you as a smoker if you smoke those e-cigarettes in a room. I would however label you a smoker if you smoked a real cigarette in a room.
I think you hit the nail on the head. Yes, I do enjoy the sensation of smoking, so occasionally, I will indulge in the "real thing." But by and large, the e-cigarette gives me exactly what I'm looking for (i.e. the feeling of smoking and the nicotine) without the side effects. And even if I did smoke more regularly, I would never light up in my incall location, and wouldn't do it before an appointment. It's just not a smell that I would want hanging in a room. I think that's just common courtesy!
