I was just told by my favorite provider that she's quitting the business and I feel like shit....

Most quits don't take the first time.

I had an ATF who quit to try to make it work with her kid's dad, but it didn't work out.  I stayed in touch very innocently with occasional lunches and phone calls and one year later we were back in business.

Until then, there are a lot of other good providers out there to get you through.

NOOOOOO! Tell me such a day doesn't exist!

It's bad enough waiting for the next "date", now I have to worry about never seeing her again AHHHHH!

Seriously, we should be happy for her and wish her success.  Maybe she can suggest her replacement?

With all due respect, what would have been nice to write was not that you feel like shit, which is a bit selfish, but maybe "and I wish her the very best and hope she has a great life."

. . . it's like when my son goes off to college. I'd miss him but could still wish him the best.

At least you got to see her. I generally get the "quitting the business" speech when I first try to make an appointment.

......if one lady moves on there are other ladies I can still see. After hobbying for 10+years I've learnt it pays to have other regulars.

I'm happy for you if that's what you really want.  How can I make this transition easier on you?  Might I be able to schedule a goodbye date?

Start trying to keep her in the game?- asshole maneuver

Get pissed that you are losing a side treat?- asshole maneuver

Be supportive and happy for her- like golf- cuz you have to

Oh- and move on hobby wise!

Being a gentleman, I wished her well and asked her to look me up if she re-enters the business.

I saw another provider today and it seems to have eased my stress, I think I'm on to something :) Thanks for letting me bleed here a bit, my wife wasn't very supportive.
