Hi this is my first post. Just for a change of pace, lets share your personal experences with the paranormal. As you can tell by my screen name, ghost hunting is one of my many hobbies. I've investigated a lot of reputedly haunted locations and have seen some amazing things.
I believe that everyone has had some sort of experience, but explains it away as imagination. When I was a kid i experience my encounter with every other kid in the neighborhood. We all saw it, so there was no way to deny it.
Ever see something out of the corner of your eye, only to have it disappear when you look at it? There is a reason for that. In astromony when you look through a telescope at a faint object, (galaxy or comet, ect), you can not see it if you look directly at it.
You must use what is called averted vision. You look next to the object so the light hits a more sensitive part of your eye. Same thing with ghost. When you look directly at some of them, they don't really vannish, you just can't see them.
That is a really cool hobby. I read lots of books about haunted places. I had a chance recently to go through the Waley House in San Diego. I did not see anything out of the ordinary though. But I truly believe they're out there.
Hi: I've been out of circulation for quite awhile, and this post peaked my interest.
I was about three months old and my parents had taken me along, out for dinner. My mom told me this years later. Anyway, as my dad pulled into the driveway, they both saw a man in a gray suit walking up the sidewalk towards the front door. My dad got out of the car and asked the man what he could do for him. Supposedly, the guy freaked and ran up and opened the door, and ran inside the house.
Now remember, the front door was locked!
But the guy just opened the door as if it had been left unlocked, and ran inside.
My dad told my mom to wait in the car with me. As he did he walked in the door and asked the man what he wanted. The man ran down the hallway to a closet, opend it and ran inside the closet!
Dad tried to talk him out of the closet, but the intruder wouldn't answer, nor, come out.
My Dad picked up a baseball bat he had, and opened the closet door. The intruder was missing!
When I heard this, I was skeptical to say the least. But mom swore it was true. They never saw, or heard from this "person" again.
It was a brand new house, and my parents were the first owners and there were no issues about a suicide of naything like that.
On a different note, my mom was originally from Germany. We have a lot of old family heirlooms dating back to the 18th century. My mom used to believe that one of our ancestors was haunting the furniture. I know, go figure. My sister claims that from time to time she has seen an apparition walking around her room as she had some of this furniture in her room. I don't know what to believe as far as any of this is concerned as I myself have never seen it, bit my sister swears that it's true.
It came from my sister's house, she had died in 1998, but I don't think it was her that haunted it. One of those old antique metal beds. My kid refused to sleep in it, said it gave him bad dreams. So I slept in it, and wow was he right. I got rid of it, there was something bad about that thing.
...man your dad scared the shit out of me with that b'ball bat. I'd just come over to fuck your mom (oh btw, I may be your daddy), but alas she wasn't there. I'm not a ghost, as I'm still around. Good thing I have the ability to disappear through solid objects. That was a close call!
and I think I have known a couple... but I was also wondering - is there the opposite of psychic vampire... that is, someone who provides energy to those around them.... they seem to be rare.... or are they common and I miss them?!
