I'll be honest, I listen to Tom Leykis radio show about 3 times a week on my drive home from work, I've even called in a couple times and spoke with him on the air.

so what do you think of Tom's credo that MEN should never spend more than $40 on a date?

and he seems to have a pretty negative view of paying for women and paying for sex
what do you Tom Leykis listeners and leykis 101 students who are also hobbyist think of that?

Tom is appealing to a 16 to 30yo demographic that have not totally come to grips with the fact that sex is a quid pro quo between men & women. I applaud Leykis's tutelage in spending as little as possible on conventional dates with delusional prima donnas who have been raised to think that their mucus membrane maternity machine is a tool to tempt, tease and trick hapless young males into spending good money on little more than a peck on the cheek.

 Although Tom’s counsel is to spend as little money as possible on the quest for quiff  I have heard him mention several times that if demonstrably spending over $40.00 is on the menu a male should just consider getting a professional too get the job done right without any “gamble”.  

Sad to say (or perhaps very enlightening to say) that the best dates I have had since my divorce has been with Escorts....  let me tell you of those so you get a picture...

on one occasion, I met a lady at a TER M&G- and we hit it off, talked with one another.  Some dude stood her up (I think it was a civie date) for an event that she wished to see... she called me as a friend - and I suggested that for the next one, I would love to "escort" her to the event... I did.  Cost (NOT for her time... but the event?) I spend about $450 total on the event (tickets, drinks, taxie etc.).  I had a GREAT time - as she is a delight to be with - and she is also great looking and a wonderful conversationlist.....

Next - A lady I met on TER Chat... Some times when we go out we go to a "fancy restaurant" - cost is anywhere from $50 to $150... but there was that one time, when we both just wanted a hamburger - cost $20~

Finally, my fav encounter story- was with a provider... at the start of the session she commented that she was hungry... during the session she commented that she was hungry... after the session she commented that she was hungry... but know what?  I was too!  I asked if I could have the pleasure of providing dinner for the two of us... she jumped up, kissed me and responded "I hate to dine alone" so off we went.... She is a looker and as we walked down the street - there were a number of catcalls and whistles (I am just too pretty)!  We had a nice leisurely dinner outside (a nice spring day)... and chatted about a lot of things.. just like a civie date... Cost?  About $75.  

So, I would say that Tom is cheap.  IN ALL of these instances - never once did I feel that I was being used.  In ALL of them, I truly felt that the lady was just that - a lady - I was brought up to "pay for the evening" when on a date... now onto my civie dates...

first, there was the lady who after I arranged for an infectious disease doctor consult for her daughter - we went out for the first time... after the date she told me that she had a wonderful time... I called her up to arrange for a second date - her comment to me?  I was of the wrong ethnic origin for her!  and I was freaky - Freaky?  after arranging for her daughter's care - (before even meeting her - it was a blind date) - and after meeting ALL of her children AND grandchildren - my freaky crime?  I asked to take a picture of her so that my kids could see what she looked like....

Second, the lady who I went out with about 3-4 times, and never even once would she let me pick her up where she lived... she would insist that we meet at the event...

Finally, there was the woman I took out - for a play, and she stood me up... we were to meet at the play...  

The civie dates - I spent far less... why?  just look at the evening... they were all not pleasant, mean spirited and in general not fun.

Pay for women?  good ole tom never been through a divorce has he.... lol


Oh!!!  I almost forgot - a memorable evening - Dining at Denny's - priceless.!!!!!

Someone should look into him dating minors! I think even most high schoolers spend more than $40 on a date. Just where does he take his dates out to?
Maybe a value mean at Mickey D’s and roller skating! Gheez, a movie and a drink is more than $40. (*But what do I know…… I live in Cities not on a farm*) maybe tractor pulls have a cheaper admission……Kisses ~T

cafeteria... We could have a hamburger, fries and coke - with a nice malt shake - all for only $4!  that would be fun.... Do you like watching B&W TV's that only have rabbit ears?

and yea, tractor pulls - well, that is a step up... them tickets go for what?  $12?  a PIECE!

so that would be out on a first date.... OH, and I have a collection of belly lint that is to die for that we could review after our dining experience.....

it's different now.  if you're spending more on a date, it's like you're trying to buy someone.  women today have their own money.  the pay gap is closing quickly.  i know more than one or two women that are the top earners in their relationships.  a strong guy isn't bothered by this.  it's just a sign of the times.  but yes, definitely geared toward the younger 20 and 30 somethings.  older folks still have their customs.  it's no big deal.  it just means that dates are now hanging out and talking and doing activities and not going to dinner and movies or shows.  besides, it's easier to get to know someone that way.  as for escorts, it's always been my opinion that the thing that you're really paying for is discretion and the understanding that there is no real boyfriend-girlfriend relationship - so no one gets hurt.

My own opinion is he has interesting theories but they do not work for real people. He doesnt think men should be gentlemen and open doors for women, etc.. etc..

I love to listen to him even though I dont agree with every word he says, I do think some of it is a interesting way to think

anyway he says, its best not to spend ANYTHING on a woman, don't take them to dinner, if anything meet them AFTER dinner for a drink at a bar, lol

he also says that after 3 dates if you havent had sex with her, DUMP THAT BITCH (his phrase, not mine)

I am wondering how you have 3 dates on $40. Surely after meeting at the bar the first time the woman will want to meet somewhere else next time, where do you go?

Again I don't understand how his philosophy works for real life. But am interested in what fellow LISTNERS think

show her a good time.  This applies whether it is a civie date, which I do not do much anymore, or not a civie.  I kinda agree with that green superdude, my really fun times are not with civies.
