I call it my "Charlie Harper money"
I agree that for less important things like bills and such, I pay mainly by CC or electronically. I almost never carry cash in my wallet however, I carry my cash in my front pants pockets and my debit/credit cards in my wallet, this way if I ever have my wallet lifted I will at least have a grand or two in cash to get by with until I can get my cards replaced. As the attached article notes, no business is required to accept cash.
More and more businesses will find electronic transfer of funds to make business sense, and I fear even checks will go the way of buggy whips.
The government, at some point, wanting to reduce the cost of printing and accounting for cash, plus a strong message of eliminating things like the underground economy and tax cheating, will stop printing cash.
At that point, all we will have is electronic fund transfers and crypto-currency like Bitcoin, which leaves some people feeling queasy.
This will obviously have large implications for providers and clients in finding ways to make fund transfers without leaving a trail.
Time to start thinking about how to adapt.
I for one almost never use actual bills, my credit cards are the primary way of paying for things, except for the occasional store that still doesn't take them or charge a fee for smaller purchases. Worst case scenario we just put the money on a gift card and hand that to the escort. Some girls apparently accept that already. Eitherway that won't be a real issue for at least another decade, cold hard cash isn't going away any time soon.
...despite all the trends and reasons for them there will not only always be a place for cash but it will always be King. I still play my lps and you can still buy a turntble.
I say good ridden gate when my purse is heavy cause of change...
Checks? I've never written a check in my lifetime .... Lol
Happy holidays to all!!

it would prevent them from being robbed and it would prevent loss of employees not ringing up and cashing out tickets.
But in the hobby world it would be a pain the butt; but not likely to happen in my lifetime. I wouldn't worry too much about cash going away.
Yes, more businesses are not taking checks except to keep business going. During the recession you honestly could not tell who would write a bad check and who wouldn't. So many businesses just stopped taking them except from little old people that never got on board with debit/credit cards.
I use my debit card, credit cards and pay virtually all bills electronically. My cash is for hookers.

...I have my cash and driver license in my front pocket held by a Tiffany money clip which was given to me by a provider (that's me channeling the braggadocio of CDL). My Amex Black (more bragging!) and other CC's are in my wallet.
Judging by your post over the last couple days, you’re kinda salty. What happened? You went from playful ass to sour ass. Did someone hurt you? 😕
The continual pummeling has gotten to him. I just feel awful about it. rofl
are horrible for your spine. It is better for men to carry their cards they use and cash in a front pocket. Leave the wallet with ID locked in the car. Credit cards not used locked at home.
It makes a world of difference on your spine to sit in alignment.
Even Seinfeld weighed in on this subject...

It's always about control.....I love using cash as a provider, so hopefully by the time this really happens I'll be in my 60's.
It’s good and bad. Transaction costs for credit cards can be high, particularly AmEx. You might not get much of a cost savings by not taking cash, and IMHO, that article has some really sad & pathetic reasons for not taking cash.
I hear there is virtually no cash in China? Everyone has a qr code including street vendors. and yes its mostly for all the reasona stated. Bartering is in.
At some point the major World Banks will pull the plug on this. I am aware that some adverse risk speculators have made a killing; buyer beware though, at some point this is going to crash!
If a restaurant, gas station, or any place that small daily purchase happen don't take cash, I will find someplace that will. Paying with a card makes the costs less real as found in multiple studies and gives an endorphin rush similar to gambling. That is not good for budgets. Also paying with a card is increasing your risk of Identity theft. Plus banks sell your spending habits and your movements are tracked. Anyplace that don't take cash don't want my money. To bad for them.
As fpr the sex worker thing, well it isn't too hard to get a vanilla gift debt card to pay with. Not a big deal. I am much more concerned with risks of identity theft and loss of privacy then the small effect it would have on this hobby of mine.
