SP websites with sound (rant)

I don't know if I'm the only one, but last thing I want to discover on an SP's web site is sound effects. I don't often look up SP's websites at the office, but when I do need to, I don't want some lame MIDI soundtrack to come on or some WAV file about how hot she is blaring across the office.I use tunneling software to avoid drwing attention to my habits, but you know, sometimes it's easy to forget to mute the damn computer.Another thing that gets to me is SP websites with lots of Java or Flash objects. Again, I use tunneling software and it's not compatible with most Java or Flash. When I go to a provider's website I'm looking for pictures and facts (and maybe a little hint as to how into their jobs they are). If I want flashy graphics, I'll go to a game or automotive site. That's my rant for the day...thanks for listening.MC Humpty D

Sound is easily dealt with; just double-click the little yellow speaker icon in your tray when you begin surfing, and check "MUTE ALL" under Master Volume.  That will silence the system. But I can't offer any solution for those annoying websites that use Flash or Java.  Except maybe to e-mail the site owner and suggest creating a "passive" page without all the browser-crashing fluff.  That's a pet peeve of mine, too.

. . . mchumptyd made some good points.  It sucks to have your cover blown by auto-loading sound files.  It attracts attention, which is not something you want when you're trying to sneak a peek undetected.  Sure, he can always mute his computer, but why take a chance that he might forget? Also, those flashy visual extras can sure slow up your webpage's loading speed or even crash your browser, like that f**king Asian Deary website.Lastly, I realize that these extras were probably pushed on you by website designers who told you that all the good websites have them and that people like them.  Let me tell you, the only people who like them are website designers.  Why?  BECAUSE THEY GET TO CHARGE MORE FOR THEM!  Please, keep it simple.

a derivative of the term "font-ugly" which came into generaluse about the same time as desktop publishing.  Persons untrained in the finer points of page layout and typesettinghad dozens of fonts to choose from, so why not put half of them on each document?Ok I rant as well.Bottome line folks keep it simple, less is more.Test your site out with Opera or even better Lynx if you have a linux/unix box.OK OK I'll STFU now!Lustman aka Moon Drop (is that the same as Lunatic Lozenge?)

I do a lot of websites for providers and non escort related businesses and I like yourselves do not like flash for the same reasons all of you have spelled out so well above.Problem is there are a lot of clients out there who are "GAGA" over it and want a flash site. Frequently one of the first questions out of a new client's mouth is "Do you know how to do flash?". I have pretty much learned it because I really felt that if I did not I was going to start loosing clients. So I would let your voices be heard not to the site designers (who are either doing it because the provider wants them to or they themselves want it) but to the provider herself. I know at least two sites out there that went flash and went back to reg. html due to surfer complaints. No matter how much a provider or webdesinger likes flash, if it cuts into a provider's bottom line to have it she is probalbly going to dump it fast or opt for a html alternative site to go with the flash one.

My turn but on a somewhat different subject.  I like to read reviews and ads in office.  TER is doing it right, but most advertising sites think that they are porn sites as well.As for sound, the default for me is always off in the office.  I turn it on only if I need it, say, for a good game.  Honestly, what software need sound as a necesity?Safeweb is good for flash and java if you turn the options on.
