In your post below, you didn't get the answer YOU were hoping for, so you didn't take it seriously and asked the question again.  But Dman and others gave you the male perspective and they were serious.  More importantly they probably speak for 99% of the men in the world too when they recommended an especially enthusiastic lovemaking session.  As indicated below, we are simple in what makes us happy, yet because women don't share our same point of view, we don't even get that.

Don't make the mistake of applying a female perspective (and what you think is appropriate, or what you would like to get) to answer the question of what a man would like to get.  My most memorable Valentine's Day celebration was when my girlfriend  placed notes around the house leading me from the front door to my bedroom.  Each note gave me some instructions- Lock the front door, turn off the bell on the phone, get two champagne glasses, turn off the lights, take off your clothes, come to the bedroom.   You get the idea.  When I walked in the door, I found she was wearing some special lingerie and had candles burning.  She gave me a kiss and then slowly dropped to her knees as she worked her way down my body.  That was 15 years ago and I still remember every detail and how much I enjoyed that evening.  Now does THAT answer your question!

My most memorable V-day was similar to G2's.  My girlfriend placed articles of her clothing on the floor forming a trail to the bedroom, where she was waiting for me.  There's nothing more that I would have wanted!

Another V-day when we were apart, she sent me a package with some very sexy nude photos of herself and some panties, to keep me going until we got together.

(Update -- I married her.  Eventually her interest in sex declined to virtually nothing, despite my most romantic attempts and a lot of counselling.)
