I am an infrequent client. I usually treat myself for my birthday, and that with one of my two favorite providers. Additionally, two years ago, I got laid off. Instead of searching for a new job, I now play poker for a living.
That means that it's difficult to fill out the forms on most providers' web sites. And I'm having a good year and considering treating myself to someone new next week.
I understand why providers want that information. You need to keep yourself safe. I appreciate that, and have no desire to make that more difficult for you. On the other hand, I really am who I say I am, but really can't prove it.
If the cost of this livelihood is that I can only see the two providers I know, well, that's OK. But I was curious if anyone could give me advice on how to get verified another way.
I do have one whitelist on here, but given how rarely I am a client, is that enough?
and ask them politely if they would be willing to be a reference for you. Just be prepared for them to tell you they're not comfortable unless they've seen you more recently.
