I saw that question on the PS board and thought it would work here.

I think passion in bed is important to everyone here, sessions without it just aren't fun to me.

But what are your passions outside of this world?

Mine are my family, mountaineering, marathons, ironman triathlons, and now bicycle racing.

There's nothing like a 90 mile training race followed by a woman.

I bring a lot of passion to a date, some ladies have had more, they have been the best. Passion beats looks, age, $, body type, etc. It's easy to overlook those things, but being with someone who is dispassionate, just not fun.

Well what are yours thought, experiences, on the topic.

Forgive this but here goes: Outside of sex and making love my truly great passions revolve around justice and fairness and the protection of those who are unable to protect themselves.  This has translated into my choosing medicine, academic medicine which doesn't pay well but which has allowed me to develop large programs that address groups in need, geriatrics at a time when the care of the elderly ignored the potentials and needs of most old people.  I ran for and was elected to political office in an area that was one party and so corrupt.  I served as the only member of my party and was able to cause a lot of trouble to those who were robbing their constituents blind.  (Let's be real, put either party in complete power for decades and they become corrupt.)

I am impassioned with understanding the injustices of the past as education for us today.

This drove my first wife crazy who wanted nothing so much as a rich American husband who hobnobbed with the wealthy and didn't cause trouble.

I have had newspaper columns and a radio show and am toying with the outlines of a book about the hobby aimed at presenting us (without any names or IDs etc. of course) as what we are: generally decent and concerned human beings who love the intimacy we all get either providing or buying intimate services.

This is neither left nor right since neither side has a monopoly on justice or piggery.

I'm passionate about games and would play them all day if reality didn't intervene occasionally. Poker is a pretty serious (and slightly profitable) hobby for me and I'm addicted to strategy-based video games. I also love animals, playing the piano and running. Although I lack any natural talent at the latter, it keeps me  in shape and has taught me many things about myself.

My children and my dogs, sports, books, gardening, jazz, fun and games, and nature.
I tell my friends that I love Sports more than sex, but they can't even go that far!
I am also passionate about doing the right thing.

"Passion beats looks, age, $, body type, etc. It's easy to overlook those things, but being with someone who is dispassionate, just not fun."  Well, not as fun...but I totally agree with what you are saying, it is the one word that best describes my desired goal in the ultimate provider/friend.  You can always out-source menu items.  As far as outside world passions nobody probaby cares about mine.  But it is outside of the bedroom I think you can best tell if you have an ATF.  Typically I try an hour session to see if there is a good fit.  If that goes well, at least one dinner session and frankly, that is the best place to see if there is passion for each other at a fundemental level.  (when a date throws professional caution to the wind and turns around and makes out with you after leaving the restaurant, you have a winner).  I agree that passion is the key that makes a provider special.

The more you will have in it.  If you have a connection with someone and allow yourself to completely enjoy that person, the passion is intense.  Kind of like making out with a client after a nice dinner.  (wink, wink StanVA) ;-)

Outside of this hobby my passions are first and foremost for my family.  My personal passions include: long walks with my best friend (dog), luncheons and dinners with close friends, scuba diving, boating, fishing, camping, hiking, mountain biking and traveling to different areas in the US by car so I can soak in the landscape and enjoy the ride.

Indeed - it may trump everything, but we tend not to give unpleasant appearing ladies a chance to prove it.

My passions? Open water sailboat racing in the 11m class, fasssssst cars, open water swimming competition in the 2 and 4 mile events, rebreather diving, competitive shooting sports, sky diving, and chasing tail. Also - V A R I E T Y
that's why I hobby!

Before you brand me a pretentious snob realize that I've never gone to college, barely graduated high school and have no formal training of any kind.

My passions are programming, mathematics, philosophy and many other areas of intellectual endeavor. I read voraciously on a wide variety of subjects. For example; of the books I'm currently reading one is on Object Oriented Programming and the other is Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman (the play).

Any thing that takes mental effort to understand seems to interest me. I'm very into the mathematics surrounding poker and other gambling games. And I actively gamble; poker, stock market, etc.

I think I enjoy playing complex risky games in the real world. And that's part of the hobby appeal.

My family first, then helping children overcoming disabilities so as to reach their full human potential. I have a few activities that I participate in, but I consider them disciplines vs. passions.

I am passionate about my family, my SO, my friends, children, laughing and playing.  I am also passionate about casino games - blackjack and, most recently, poker.    My artistic flair comes out in my rubberstamping and scrapbooking projects.  I have a thing for words so crave a good game of Scrabble!

In all fairness, I am an all or nothing kind of gal.  If I try something, I develop a passion for it quickly!
