I bought my TracFone at WalMart, I chose a Motorola V170 flip phone for a few extra bucks. When I hobby I just exchage the TF with my other phone in my belt carrier. I also buy the refill minutes at W/M as well, though they're widely available. You can add mitutes right through the phone then drop the plastic card in the trash. Yes W/M still takes cash. Over a year & I remain satisfied. Comes with a wall charger. Car chargers can be hard to find as not compatible with "standard" Motorola. You can buy them from Trac. I don't see them at W/M any longer. I just bought a car charger (OEM, not some knock off) over the internet from DayDeal.com (in Calif). I'll let you know how I make out. If you want to keep the same number, just refill before service days expire. My Favs now recognize my number. The great thing about a cheap phone, is it can be dropped under a bus & you've lost very little. skb
How can I get a non traceable cell phone? One I can pay for with cash and not have to give a name or id to buy and pay for minutes with case or without a credit card. It's for use only for the hobby. Thanks, T
Last time I was home in the US, I bought a Tracphone at CVS for 10 bucks. It came with 20 minutes, and cards to add time are available there as well. No names, credit card.

I use a tmobile to go phone. I paid cash for it at target. It does require a setup and a phone call from another number but the information I gave was fake.
I can buy the minutes at target or walgreens.
the risk of playing around isn't LE but is really from an SO. I find that the tmobile phone works well.
Offers the best rate I have been able to come across; for a dollar a day you can get free mobile-to-mobile There are only 2 cell companies that I have found that aren't under the m-2-m; those are Virgin Mobile & Unicel.
You do not have to "register" & you can buy refills cards with cash
I have had good luck with my Virgin Mobile hobby cell. You can do everything in cash, don't have to give them ANY information, or you can give them ficticious details. I get no snail mail from them either. You might have to set up a safe hobby email that only you know about to set up the account, but I'm not sure as It was a year ago that I got mine.
As an extra added bonus I just happened to see this article on-line today that might help you in your decision. See the attached link.
If you can find it, it is a cash purchase, no registration, and cash refills via cards purchased in stores. The only link is you on the surveillance camera.
It did take a bit of searching because 7-11 is starting to push virgin mobile, but I've been happy with mine.
