Having seen one in action, I find the mechanical rhythm distracting.

I just love mutual masturbation!!! I don't know what it is about it... I mean, sure, I'm mildly exhibitionistic, and voyeuristic too... but there's something about watching a man touch himself that just drives me absolutely wild. And if he's doing it while he's watching me? WOW! Just too hot.
As for the Sybian, I tried one once. It was fun, but for me personally, the sensations weren't what I was looking for. I also tried a machine called the "Big Daddy Fucking Machine," and I really, really liked that, I think mostly because it allowed me to lie on my back. I'm fascinated by these machines. Apparently, there's a sex machine museum in the Czech Republic. I've always wanted to see it.
I think a lot of providers are open to trying new things... that's part of the whole mindset that's required to do the job. My guess is that less experienced providers might be a little hesitant, but I also think you can tell from a woman's website if she's into getting a little wild.
