The D party gives you a relatively inexperienced African-American candidate (a first) paired with a VP candidate who has experience.

The R party gives you an experienced candidate paired with a female VP candidate who is relatively inexperienced. Should this ticket win she would be a first.

So no matter who wins there will be a first.  

Not trying to start a P&R debate here  - just making an observation…
