I think what you are saying is that one MUST be a clock watcher is a qv session, but you said it backwards. I agree fully that clockwatching can occur in any length session. It's rarely happened to me, but I can say with certainty that when it occasionally has, it was clearly due to a lack of chemistry between the lady and me. The clock watching is obvious, as she can't wait for this train wreck to be over.
This is one of the reasons I don't do more than an hour with a provider I'm seeing for the first time, because when things get awkward because you're not connecting, two hours can seem like four, so the only viable option is to bail after the first hour (or even half hour), and leave half or more of the session fee on the table, but even worse, it usually won't happen without a little drama.
No, that is not what I'm saying at all. Being a clockwatcher is a mentality, not tied to the actual elapsed or remaining time is what I'm saying.
A non clock watcher will make a qv session not feel like you're racing against the clock. And conversely, a clock watcher will always be watching the clock even if it's a multi hour appointment.
On one side, if a client is booking these El Cheapo sessions, I don’t entirely blame a provider for watching the clock.
On the other side, if these El Cheapo sessions bother a provider that much, I don’t know why she’s even offering them.
I can’t entirely disagree with it being a mentality thing though. If the argument is you wouldn’t feel this way if your client wasn’t so cheap, take control and don’t offer shorty sessions.
But going back to the criticism of the review, it is a little on the client too. Those who offer 1/2 hour sessions are probably more likely clock watchers. In fact, they probably even watch the clock when you book an hour or two. If you book a provider for a shorty session, don’t be shocked that she’s a clock watcher.
