I have no secrets...ok, ok, I have SOME secrets...
BUT...in the vein of your question...while I obscure this part of my life from those outside the hobby who know me personally, anyone inside the hobby who knew me (i.e., providers) would have no trouble pinning down this TER screen name / ID to me. My reviews are detailed and posted promptly, and the email address I use to coordinate my hobby activities is devoted solely to that, and uses this name as well.
How do I react when asked? With the truth...yes, that is I. Yes, I will post a review.
For the Ladies & Gentleman and those of us who LOVE what we do:
Recently I realized that some of the gentleman I was meeting in reality were posters on TER. This has mainly come up by pure accident or coincidentally. Then I find myself saying..Oh, youre so-and-so on TER!? I am somehow suprised when the gentleman tells me his screen/user name. I guess because it seems sureal on TER sometimes.
Anyhoooo, anyone that knows me also knows that I am pretty down-to-earth and straight-up. I try not to get sucked into the ol political correctness and stepping-on-ones-toes loop. But, I HAVE to get some input here.....
Ladies, if and when you are aware that a client is a TER poster, how do you react?
Gents, when and if a provider asks about your TER status or screen name, how do you react?
xoxoxoxo carol p.s. thanks to those whom made my trip to l.a. more than tolerable!...*wink*
and ask if she would like me to post a review. If I had a good time and she says no, I don't post. If I had a lousy time and she says no, I post anyway. Good performance is rewarded and poor performance is noted.
If asked, I'll tell them the name I post under. However, I review under a different name that I do not reveal. I will post a review/not post a review based upon the wishes of the provider.
The gentlemen I see almost 100% of the time have found me because of TER. I do very little advertising none presently accept my website. My preference is TER travelers and especially the ones who are aware of this discussion board. For the most part this means their awareness of protoccol is likely to be more astute than the gent who just rushes to read the latest reviews and knows nothing of the other wonderfully informative areas that TER has within it's site. To me the discussion board travelers exhibit the interest of trying to stay aware of all the arenas this hobby may extend too and the complexities and changes that occur. Providers and hobby goers use the discussion board as a vehicle to find information and to express the joys and pitfalls of their intimate encounters. I never ask anyone to write a review but at the end of our time together I do give a do's or don'ts about review writing. Only because some in their exhuberance have let go of details that but my security at risk. I have been priviledged to meet and spend time with some of the regular discussion board gents and it has never been disappointing not once. Just shear delight!

If the lady raises the topic, I usually shrug my shoulders and say, "What's TER?," or words to that effect. But I have revealed my TER handle to my ATF. Whenever we're lying around, basking in the afterglow, we often joke about other TER personalities. Aside from that one lady, however, I never mention TER or Southpaw.
I have never been asked by a provider if I use a board such as TER. But, I usually say I found out about a provider via TER. I like the lady to know I am diligent in finding someone, am serious about who I spend my very limited time with, and that I put some thought into what we are about to do. It's not just "Wham, bam, thank you ma'am" and I try to convey that by indicating I do a certain amount of research.
