Like many, I've been assuming he's just a clueless simpleton whose opinions can be used as a counter-intuitive sign-post: if Tardwell says something, reality is 180 degrees in the other direction. But reading his most recent posts here, I'm beginning to wonder.  Is it humanly possible for anyone to be so totally "out to lunch" all the time?
The more I pondered this, the more I began to wonder if Tardwell is actually a troll-genius?  Imagine his plan to create the persona of a newbie bumpkin who is so wrong-headed and so thoroughly pisses people off that he actually gets off on it?
Kind of like a different version of FatWhiner, but less obvious.
I'm really hoping he's really a brilliant troll.  Because imagining a monger who's such a total tool as RoddyTardwell is, well, unutterably sad

I doubt that he is any type of troll, brilliant or otherwise. He's just a poster with different opinions than those of the frequent posters here, and there are plenty of lurkers who I'm sure don't share the same opinions and values of the typical clique. Rod is just willing to speak up knowing he will be bashed or ridiculed for not sharing the same posted opinions. I truly enjoy when someone posts something aside from the prevalent posters here (even if I don't always agree), and I don't feel it warrants being bashed or called a troll. Variety is the spice of life, and life would be so boring if we all thought the same, but that's just my opinion, which I'm sure will be 180 degrees different than the views of the typical posters here; I've never been one for group thought and conformity, and that's A-OK in my book.

My guess is that he is a variation of a simpleton. One that is not actually stupid, but who has problems understanding what is really expected in social interchange.

But then the sincerity and utter desperation seeping from the I-want-to-pick-up-a- girl thread makes me think he's just a really lonely guy (sample pic) with a dungeon in his Wash DC house and just looking for the right girl to call it home. I'm sure Corinne will do an outcall for $1k if he asks. She'll be glad we outed her alias then... Lol.

A lot of what you post is simply a naive and simplistic interpretation of how our little world works, meaning you just don't get it and are often wrong on simple facts, not just opinions.  So lurkers who read your tripe and don't know better could do what you say and get into loads of trouble.
And, no, I don't really think you're a brilliant troll, though it would be better if you were.  I can't think of a single thing you've posted here with which I agree or think is accurate.
Your defense of JLS (whom I've always liked) was a litany of straw men, red herrings and incorrect analogies.  I just declined not to pile on.  Let's just say, with friends like you she doesn't, well, you know.

As for your premise that he hasn't "spent much time in the business," that's exactly my problem with him.  He's an obvious noob who doesn't let his lack of experience stop him from bloviating about things he knows nothing about. It's annoying.
