at a Holiday Inn Express in Cleveland, OH. After 10:00PM, unescorted persons, who are not checking in, are politely asked their destination room (someone in a Domino's shirt, and carrying a pizza, would probably not be accosted).
The young lady with whom I planned to develop a deeper relationship arrived, and introduced herself as my niece. When asked my last name, however, she didn't know. The hotel clerk then politely explained that hotel policy forbade the clerk from allowing the young lady to proceed, and asked the girl to leave.
As if this weren't bad -- and disappointing -- enough, I understand the intended object of my affection went ape-sh*t, and explained a number of points to the hotel clerk. These points included, but were not limited to, the fact that the clerk's parents weren't married, and indeed, her father was not of our species.
The young lady eventually left. I was then called by the hotel manager, who explained their policy to me, and told me that my "niece" had been asked to leave -- and how my "niece" had expressed her disappointed at having to do so.
The problem with an agency (in this case, Yes Girls dot Com), is that information you provide to the dispatcher rarely, if ever, gets to the lady making the call. So, any cover story one might give, would probably be lost.
I suppose an option would be to meet the young lady outside the lobby, escort her into the hotel, and over to the elevators. She won't be questioned if she's with a guest.
Another option is to do one's homework, and schedule an evening with well-reviewed, independent provider. The problem is, these things are often impulse-driven. Plus, when I travel on business, I'm really not sure what free time I'll have, nor when it will be available.
