Not so when I was young however. My parents bought us tons of them and encouraged us to go forth with them lit and traipse around the yard. They also bought us BB guns, bows and arrows (with real sharp tips!), go-Karts, and cans of bug spray the better to destroy the world with.
If they had done this today they'd be serving 10-20 for child endangerment.
