In my case, I don't have a fucking clue, but I do have a smile on my face virtually every day.

There is another way of looking at things to make you a little happier. Just think if you had paid off your mortgage, you could be sitting there right now thinking to yourself "Damn, I could have spent all that money getting drunk and fucking hookers" Feel free to edit that thought if you don't drink. lol

I'm sure everyone thinks about it.. It's a hobby just like any other..

Sometimes I look at how much money I have spent traveling and I realize I could have bought a home and a car by now, but at the end of the day, I love my experiences and love looking back over photos from my trips..

As long as your bills are being paid and you aren't neglecting kids or pets, enjoy life!

You could have done better on CL.  Maybe Priceline?

That certainly explains a lot...doesn't it

Before I quit smoking, I was spending $13,000 a year on cigarettes (it would be $16,000 with the new taxes). When I quit, I was able to buy some fun toys with my savings.

Looks like I'll be spending more than that on providers. Not as much as some guys, more than others probably.

Personally, I quit smoking decades ago when even after moving his number over a full decimal point, a normal person couldn't even come close to spending that much, but even though I know cigarettes are an outrageous amount of money nowadays, 36 bucks a day, every single day of the year, seems like an awful lot of smoking to me. Anyone who smokes that much, I am surprised he has enough wind to fuck. lol

That's 36 bucks a day. Not judging. I smoke.

But I live in a state with one of the highest vice taxes of any state. And, I could not begin to smoke 36 bucks worth of tobacco in one day. Maybe you added an extra '0'?...lol...

More than 100 years ago, J.P.Morgan had one of the largest yachts in the country.  Someone asked him how much it cost him to operate it and he told them: "If you have to ask, you can't afford it.

5+ packs a day. At the end, cigs were sixty-some plus tax, so pushing $70 a carton. One carton would last two days max.

Not as bad as NYC or Chicago, where cigs are $110 to $120 or more a carton.

No. I did a lot of smoking of that stuff in the early 70's. My buddy and I would buy a pound for all of $140, sell fourteen ounces at $10 each, and we had our two paid for.

and yes, this hobby is much cheaper than gambling, a lot healthier than drugs, much more fun than golf. Now a divorce lawyer while expensive, is worth every penny, whereas a shrink can be replaced at a tenth of the cost by a decent bartender. lol

for me it's not just the donation, but also the travel costs to get to the ladies. But mortgage is done, divorce was cheap and easy, no kids and making more money than I ever have. I'm seeing better looking women than I've ever been able to get and I don't have to deal with the bullshit of a relationship. So, whatever it is total, it's a good spend. Life is good.

How much were you spending on blow to get you to smoke that much?  Assuming you sleep 6 hours per 24 hours and it takes about 5 to 8 minutes to smoke one cigarette, you had to have been pretty much chain smoking all day long.  This means that no matter what else you were doing, you had a cigarette in your mouth.  How are you even still alive?  Do you speak with a voice box and breath through a tube in your throat?  Do you even have any teeth left?

What happened to leather jacket?

Do I have to answer all of those questions? It's kinda late. ;)

I was smoking one after another. My older brother did the same. So did my late ex-father-in-law. Bob Dylan used to smoke five packs a day.

If  I had to get up in the middle of the night to take a lead, I'd have a cigarette. The way I smoked them, it took about 3-5 minutes to finish one. I'd take a break and light another.

I don't know how I'm alive, but I'm in good health.

I still wear a leather jacket when riding my motorcycle, but where did that question come from?

Some people get three or four coffees a day that go for $5-$7 a pop..

Other people order take out for lunch everyday from the office..

People spend money on what they want to spend it on..

That is none of my business.

I was perplexed about how it was possible for someone to spend $13-16,000 a year on cigarettes. Now I know.

And, BTW, 4 trips a day to Starbucks, every day of the year, would run about 6 grand. So, if someone told me they spent $13-$16 thousand a year on coffee, I would wonder about that too.

If I have a feeling that someone is an out on control sex addict, I won't see them.

Someone used to write me and admitted that he was.. I told him that I couldn't see him. He ended up making new email addresses, but I figured it out pretty easily.. When someone has a unique way of saying things, it's not that hard to do the math.

I'm not trying to ruin anyone's life, my goal is to do the exact opposite! Liven it up!

Kudos to you for doing the right thing. :

Now........I wish I could find enough worthy hookers to claim "too much". The "worthy" field has diminished sunstantially.

I already posted about what I spent on cig's.

I recently thought about what I'm spending now on providers, and what I spent on my ex.

Ten years ago I bought her a new car for Christmas. Did the whole thing with parking it out front with a big ribbon on top.

The car was a deluxe PT Cruiser. Hey, it's what she wanted.

Anyway, with travel (gas, food, hotel) my current favorite provider runs about $1500 for three hours. What I spent on that car would pay for 14 three hour sessions, or 42 hours.

Did I get 42 hours of great sex from my ex in the last ten years? I didn't even get 4.2. I maybe didn't even get 42 minutes.

I should have put the money in a jar and saved it for hookers after I divorced. ;)
