Providers and social media.

This one is more geared towards the gents and lady hobbyists.
Twitter and Snapchat: is this type of social media something guys approve of, and use to check if providers are real, or do you use it to follow your atf girl/s?
I guess i have only used twitter while avoiding Facebook, Snapchat, instagram, tumblr etc... since they are basically different forms of the exact same product. I like twitter being the more impersonal and easy to use imo.
How do the gents feel about social media and providers? A positive tool or not?

Social Networking is useful for verifying that everyone has a face, and probably isn't a cop, specifically snapchat.

I've snapchat verified most of the SB's I've seen, which keeps everyone quite honest. Never done so with a provider, but I'd say it would be a very nice plus if it were offered. I'm not holding my breath.

Realize that there's a great personal cost to the data they collect. At best, whomever owns the data can tell exactly who you are and will use that to show you relevant advertising. At worst, they can use that data to extort you.

Found my ATF and another escort (since retired) that I had good times with on twitter. I'm probably the exception since I'm one of the younger gents on here.

Snapchat, I don't have that app and from what I see, a lot of the escorts I follow charge for their snapchat ( if they can make money doing that sure, but I'm not paying for your snapchat)

I do go to a certain site on Twatter if I want a few laughs.

All of these social media tools can make it easier to attract, communicate and verify providers and clients.  But beware that you risk trading away some of your privacy if you are not experienced using them.
.
For example, Snapchat will not only track your specific location when using the app (or even when NOT using it), it will actually display your location to your Snapchat "friends". I'm not talking about tagging your snaps with the general city. I mean they will plot you on a street map, right down to the building you are in! Of course you can shut that feature down and prevent your location from being shared. But the settings are hard to find and even if it's off Snapchat may track your location in their system.
.
So the bottom line is: use them if you think it will drive deeper engagement from your current and potential clients and you can easily see if your number and length of bookings increase. BUT make damn sure you know what data they are collecting, how they use it, who can see it, and how to prevent info you don't want shared from leaking out.

And I wouldn't be surprised if many other "Social Media" sites are doing the same and similar things.  Don't be surprised if the "real" you gets an invitation to Friend your "escort" you because you both seem to like the same places ... and always at the same times.
.
AVOID SOCIAL MEDIA LIKE THE PLAGUE THAT IT IS!

...I have NO social media footprint at all -- no FB, Twitter, ChappySnat or any other SM use at all. As we get further enmeshed in the web, all facets of our lives are being tracked, correlated and put together. Is all this convergence a good thing? Will the connections to websites visited, emails sent & received, FB Likes and every other bit of electronic usage show the patterns that will allow someone to figure out who you are, where you've been and make educated guesses as to what you've been up to?

Nah, it's just the paranoid rants of an old dinosaur -- carry on...

No social media for me .Just far too much exposed information.

Whatever positives may come from SM, one careless keystroke is all it would take to make things come crashing down.

Hardly a day goes by without some story in the news about someone hoisted by their own SM-petard.

The only SM I need is TER.

From my point of view, as a provider, I prefer a twitter over a reference check.
More drama comes from a scorned reference than a useful Twitter/IG handle and helps alleviate the fear or the exposure of personal information bloat/baggage. Not trying to rehash the past but I actually prefer a Social Media account. I know not everyone likes the exposure but it’s tough to keep things private anymore. It’s becoming more like how can you look good if you’re tracked versus how can I hide when you can’t hide anything anymore.
Yes, SWitter/Twatter/Twitter can be entertaining too :)

Much of my hobby life did not involve social media, there was no need. I won't use social media presence to confirm a provider's identity since they can be faked. It might be useful if a potential client discovered an empty Twitter profile, that might be a red flag. But overall not too useful. I do agree that there is a huge amount of potential data collection hiding behind the scenes on social media. I believe that most of the data is aggregated and has a very short lifespan, but that does mean it is always necessarily harmless and benign.

will display on their page as suggested friends.  Yikes!  I don't go there except to look up people I interview for an S Corp.   Never ever in this hobby do I want to know anything that personal about my clients.  Nope.  I have my own life to tend to

I follow porn starts I like, escorts I've seen or would like to see, etc. Like my hobby email and phone, it's not connected with my real identity.
.
I don't think it's  really useful for verification. Just about any provider with an active Twitter account will have a decent website, be reviewed here, and will probably be on P411. It's an additional way to get info on tours, etc.

There are a few ladies that I follow on Twitter - mostly because they post great pictures or because they are funny or otherwise amusing.

One thing I still haven't figured out is how to use Twitter to find ladies if I don't already know they are there.

twitter 24/7 so the posting of a "special in the next x hours" will not always work. If hobbyists use social media they need to be certain there is no risk of cross contamination with RL.

What I find somewhat unnerving is when providers use twitter or other social media to boast about "look what my date brought me tonight" or "look at this 8 star restaurant he took me to dinner". Many mongers do not have a money tree in our back yard.

Twitter is a  great snapshot of many who are certifiably BSC.   If their name pops up when touring , automatic delete  list.

Never use to make  arrangements, but shure can clue you in to the nature of them.  I simply use it as a screening device. Not to converse.     No Dm's

But if you are into CBJ and a advocate for a  hookers union   great place to find them. Not in that camp personally.

In the search area type your city then the word escort.
Example:
LasVegas Escort
~
I finally gave in and started Twitter a couple of months ago.
The jury is still out if I like it or not yet. ..  🤔

Don't be luled into a false sense of security because you don't actively participate in face/snap/agram.

There are whole companies setup just for aquiring data on people like you, who just use the internet. Steve Gibson talked about this on his latest episode of his 'Security Now!' podcast. Here's a link to it and one of the aforementioned tracking sites:

TER and P411 are how I screen the providers I see.  HOWEVER, when I see a provider has a Twitter page I'll definitely take a look at it.  Social Media, IMHO, sends out a pretty clear signal about the provider and the way she approaches her business.  If I see a bunch of political posts, asking for money for surgeries or what not, wish list ideas, the ongoing tweets about how gents that pay deposits are so appreciated, pictures of couples walking on beaches with a caption that says "see what you're missing" and a lot of other self-serving, transparent and mindless gibberish I just take them off my list.  The most professional escorts I know either don't have professional social media, or, if they do, they keep it strictly to pictures, tour schedules and other useful HOBBY information.

For me, there have been numerous providers that I might have seen had it not been for their dopey posts on Twitter.  On the other hand I can think of only a handful of providers whose Twitter accounts have made me actually take more interest in them.

The political stuff is a biggie with me.  Why anyone would post things that would automatically turn of roughly 50% of their potential client base is completely beyond me.  To me it just shows a total lack of judgement and I think to myself "If she is using such bad judgement and poor business decision making about that what else is she careless about?"  There are too many good escorts out there, especially where I hobby, to waste time and money on the ones that I have doubts about going into it.

So to answer the OP's question I would say that, in my case at least, I don't view social media as a very positive tool for most providers.  I think it could be a very useful portal of information, IMHO, but only to the degree that it provides hobbyists with actual hobby information. Others will certainly disagree but that is my take on it.

to sacrifice your privacy, and leave a large digital print of your life for eternity, Social Media is the way to go. Like every mass madness, people will loose interest and it will die.
