In the hobby and life in general, or, are you a person that is just living  you life, and whatever happen , happens . If you do take care of yourself, what are some of the things you do, in terms of nutrition ,exercise, ets.
As for me, after learning that many  carcinogen chemicals  that are banned elsewhere are still being used here in our  food, hair and body  products,  I decided to  start  paying  close attention to what I buy and consumer. Maybe too late ,some may say ,but it's worth  a try in my opinion .
Apart from that ,I  also dont drink just any water ; I excercise daily and watch my sugar ,fats, and  PSA.
What do you do to try and stay healthy for as long as you can?

Back when my divorce started in 2012 I decided to start taking care of myself. I started going to see my doctor for annual physicals and do that every year. I always thought of myself as thin but he told me I should lose about 15 pounds. So I did and then some.

My fasting blood glucose had been on the rise over the past few years. Doc didn't think it was an issue and told me just to watch my portion sizes, especially with pasta. Well, I wanted to be more pro-active so I had a talk with a friend and ex-coworker who is a nutritionist and registered dietician. He got me on the right track as far as eating goes. After about 6 months of my new "lifestyle" I got my blood work done again and my fasting glucose dropped 20 points. Big difference. I watch fats, especially saturated fats, and read labels like crazy. I used to eat a lot of eggs and stuff for breakfast now I eat a lot of oatmeal - probably at least 4 days a week. Never could stand the stuff but I love it now.

I also go to the gym three times a week, pretty much like clockwork. I do some weight training but also about 2.5 hours of cardio - stairs, treadmill, rowing. BP was never an issue but mine has dropped significantly. I collect a pension so I want to live for as long as I can!

men's health declines after divorce because they no longer have a wife to look after them and make sure they eat well, etc.

My case, as I think it was for you, is the opposite.   My ex was a junk-food junkie and kept all kinds of fattening and otherwise unhealthy snacks around, which I would also end up eating because it was there.

After she moved out, I started to buy only healthy snacks like fruits, raw nuts, etc.  I make sure to avoid too much salt, eat lots of vegetables, and go easy on the meat. Today my weight is lower and vital stats are better than when I was married,  and I exercise more also.

I'm 70, and hope to keep up a healthy hobby regimen for at least 10 more years which means being healthy enough to hold down my job so I can afford it, and practice it.

Come to Jesus folks, and stay fit.

I had such a stressful life that I used to think "it wouldn't be bad to spend some time in the hospital just to get away from this shit".

Once the divorce started I decided that I had a lot to live for and turned my life around.

So I have to thank my ex for throwing me out of the house (I still don't know what the reason for that was but I just left!)

And except for my slightly higher resting pulse rate, I’m in better shape than when I was 40. In fact, it was when I hit that age that some life changes made me totally reassess my health. In the ensuing decades I’ve been extremely mindful of my eating, exercise and sleep. When I left college, my waist size was 32.  My waist size today is 32.  That is not an accident. That is a result of my desire to be able to do all the stuff I enjoy doing—hiking, skiing, cycling, traveling, occasionally shtupping—as long as I can.

I exercise now because it improves my quality of life now. I eat pretty good now because it makes me feel better now. I don’t fucking care about living longer. The country I live in is going to ass. I’m not really looking forward to the old man years.

I believe the ultimate goal in life is to watch your family grow & become a Grandparent. I want to be healthy for my children, and hopefully one day not to soon be blessed to be called Grandma. Family is everything. I am focused on creating a balance in life as a single Mom it’s hard to reserve me time. I do yoga twice a week, I swim laps, and have a home gym. I do HIIT training. I love my treadmill & the iFit advantage of running everywhere in the World with excellent trainers. Currently, I am embracing a plant based diet to cleanse my body & not drinking alcohol, or indulging in sweets. It’s almost Summertime & out here in Southern California you need to be beach body ready. Lol! I want to be that MILF & later in life GILF! With diet, exercise, mindfulness, sleep, and balance you can care for yourself. Love yourself more & self care is a must. Great post! Smile for me!

through the same thing you did.  When they were married, premature death due to poor health was a viable exit strategy,  so they did not think much about longevity, but divorce happened first, so as soon as they are single and living the good life, they want to squeeze every day they can out of what time they have left.  Congrats for finding that divorce is not always the "nuclear" option to end a marriage.  I think the reason so many married men cherish their hobby experiences is because they think they can't get out of a stale marriage for the usual list of reasons (money, kids, family, work, etc.), so many will live the healthy life that you do so at least their dick keeps working.  They are never going to run out of providers.

take Geritol every day. Ok, not the last part. But those of you old enough to remember those ads get the idea how old I am.

I was a skinny kid, but in college I started lifting and running and was in really good shape in my 20s.  Then came a wedding and kids and long hours working and a lot of traveling, and 30 years ago I didn’t like what I saw in the mirror. Also my pants didn’t fit anymore. So I decided to make time for myself every day, usually early morning, to exercise. I’ve been doing it ever since.

I do it mainly because I enjoy it, and because it lets me do pretty much anything physically I want to do.  But I have to admit I like it when someone at the gym asks me how old I am, I tell them, and their jaw drops to the floor. And the compliments from women aren’t hard to take either.  Or when a provider comments on my stamina, and I tell her that’s one reason I work out every day.

Geritol was popular, not just with old folks, for at least one important reason: 12% alcohol! "Is Gramps hittin' the bottle again?" "Nah, he's just taking his Geritol tonic."

"Geritol was the subject of years of investigation starting in 1959 by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC)."
.
"In popular culture: Geritol was often used in the 1960s as a punch line for a joke in sitcoms or in comedy routines; comic singer Allan Sherman parodied Geritol on his 1962 album My Son, the Folk Singer, singing "Yasha got a bottle of Geritol" to the tune of "Joshua Fought the Battle of Jericho". ... At one of the gyms I used to use, there was an old guy in his 80s who did 80 lb dumb bell curls with ease ... but he wasn't muscle bound, like Mr. Olympia. He had been in the construction biz most of his life, so he had done decades of "training" with various heavy on-the-job loads.  I never asked him if he used Geritol.

.. I have made a few positive changes in my lifestyle.

A couple of yrs ago my A1C was 6.4. Last check up it was down to 5.1. There is history of diabetes in my family, so I have to be careful.

I exercise everyday. 30-35 min of cardio and lift weights every other day. Even 20-25 min of running, brisk walking in open air helps regulate blood sugar  On top of that I eat less sweets. Trying to eat less bread but it's hard.  I also make it a point to eat more fiber (natural is better, but fiber powder like Metamucil also works)  Also make sure to have enough berries in my diet. They are loaded with antioxidants.

Otherwise, I am overall pretty healthy person. I am 41. 5'9 and 157 lbs ( I used to be around 170 during March/April 2020)  I have dark black hair and beautiful looking 6 ½ inch uncircumcised cock.  Hope that helps.

Since retiring for the second time, I decided to get fitter and healthier. I’ve been going to the gym every day and watching my dietary habits. I was feeling good about myself, for a 70 year old, able to keep it up and hobby good and hard. Then, just by accident,  got diagnosed with a inherited heart condition which would be fatal unless I get a pacemaker. So, I’m getting on the schedule for that.
My point is, do all the usual healthy stuff you want, but don’t neglect the testing for hidden health conditions.
There are things that can creep up on you unnoticed, which have nothing to do with how good you take care of yourself. Make sure your routine exams cover everything. It can be a lifesaver.

That fasting blood glucose level isn't close to diabetic so no wonder that your doctor doesn't think you should be on insulin.

a friend pointed out to me that close family and friends are an even greater wealth than either.

In fact, he was a frequent contributor on this board some 15 years ago that some of you might remember, Scoed.

He went through an agonizing year or two of fighting off cancer, and without the support of these people he doesn't think he would have made it.

So yes, save for the future, protect your health, but treat your friends and family like precious gems, for they are all that and more.

scoed is also wealthy and he worked incredibly hard to achieve that status.  He used his wealth to get healthy.  He could afford to get the best insurance to help him overcome cancer.

scoed lost 200 pounds to improve his health.  As a wealthy man, he could afford to see a therapist for help and he could afford to buy the healthiest foods.  His wealth gives him the time to be able to go to meetings at Overeaters Anonymous and to get all the exercise he needs.  He's an admitted food addict, but as a wealthy man he has the time and the tools to deal with his addiction.  If he didn't have wealth he wouldn't have the health to enjoy his friends and family.

Here is the thing money made it easier, but my loved ones made it possible. I my family gave me reason to fight, to explore every possible treatment when traditional treatments failed not my wealth. After I beat cancer I looked.in the mirror and realized I still wasn't healthy. My health still jeopardize my family. So I did use my wealth to make facing my addiction easier. But my family was why I did it. My family had my back.every step. Wealth helps but it doesn't give you reason to  fight. It doesn't give you the courage to change. Family does.

The studies do NOT say that organic or natural is worse than more highly processed or non-organic near equivalents. They say that, in their opinion, that the higher cost for organic or natural options isn't justified by providing any great benefit.
.
Are you charging women more to put YOUR dick in their mouth than OTHERS charge them? They should be aware that they can get a MUCH better deal from others, e.g., me.
.
I also wonder about your truth in advertising. For example, are you manscaped? THAT is hardly natural. A full bush is natural. Do you disclose that to the women BEFORE you charge them or is it a bait and switch surprise as you drop trou?

I don't bother taking "good" care of myself for longevity.   Osteoarthritis is slowly degenerating all my joints.  Asbestos exposure has started taking my breath away.  I never married nor has any woman claimed i sired her child.  Most of my good friends live far away.  Parents and brother are long gone.  I have a few local friends whose company I enjoy but I tend to prefer being alone.  I do have some curiosity about the path of the human experience but I no longer have impact on its direction.  In short, I couldn't care less about longevity.  As for good, that is an opinion.  Compared to the age of the cosmos, our lives are extremely short no matter how long we live.  So live, let live and enjoy our short existence.

Good point Jensen.  I missed that boat.  My corpse won't make the "Autopsy Weekly" centerfold.  But I was trying to express a slightly different POV.  My philosophy of hedonism is geared toward my enjoyment of the present, not my quickening of my demise.   If I enjoy things that are beneficial (good?) for my health, it is because I enjoy doing so.

For instance, I accidentally quit drinking after drinking 15 beers daily for forty years.  I found out when I came home from the store one day with a cold case of beer and found all my refrigerators full of beer.  I just stopped enjoying it but kept buying beer out of habit until I had no place to store it.  That was a few years ago.  I still have a drink socially on rare occasions, maybe once every two or three months or so.  But I never drink alone anymore and never feel the desire to drink.  And for some reason, I enjoy this reprise from alcohol.  I have cool dreams that I remember and don't have to get out of bed to pee at night.

I have become far less mobile.  I never enjoyed sitting most of a day until recently.  Now I like to watch TV, read, browse the net, and basically, spend a lot of time immobile.   That is not beneficial (bad?) for my health, but I enjoy it.  Basically, I don't care how my corpse looks when I'm done with it.  I ain't seen no tomorrows and don't live for yesterday.  I just want to enjoy the present as best I can.
