The downhill slide IMO started long before the mods were dropped. I am well aware that the powers that be have different values and goals than I do - I have written to them many times, tried to discuss issues and present my case, and have been rebuffed or ignored.
Are you saying that because issues have been discussed before that they should never be discussed again? I don't understand what you are saying, clearly I'm not as intelligent as I think I am :-)

Up to last Spring, the boards had moderators who would check the worst excesses, and while there would be flare ups, it was nothing like it is now here.

I much prefered the old way, and hope some day TER brings back moderators.

On the other hand, like others said, it's mostly hot air, so don't let it get to you.

I joined TER 10 years ago. I was AMAZED at the intelligent discussion going on here. Occasionally an idiot would post something nasty, and he was generally shouted down by the regulars before the moderators even had to get involved. I met a number of terrific providers through the boards, some as a client, some professionally as a photographer... a couple I dated, a couple who became good friends, and a few who became "pen-pals". I found a few strong connections with other hobbyists as well, often sharing valuable information and sometimes just keeping a fun, behind the scenes conversation.

Little by little, the angry men have taken over. Lord help you if you ask a question that's ever been asked before, side with a provider on ANY issue, or mention any of the following: cock size, provider's rates, provider's orgasms, negotiating, backpage, bareback, or transsexuals. Threads are routinely hijacked and turned into long, inane, serpentine arguments between 2 or 3 lonely hearts or petty tyrants, while a group of self-appointed board cops flag any thread that actually starts to get interesting.

I still come here and have started posting again after a long hiatus of lurking because I am bored, and there doesn't seem to be anyplace better, but my days of reading every post are long gone, these days there are only a smattering that are worth reading.

That's my rant and I'm sticking to it.

Ive been told by many of my now friends and once clients that the board were exactly as you explain.
I browse all the boards on here and i think the most perfectly passive board is the 60 and over!
caption themed photo threads and position of the day and erotic humor! it's a shame that most intelligent discussions end in crazy disputes and name calling!

You said what I said on here for years before I gave up saying it.  The boards changed for the worse when GND stopped moderating, and slowly but surely changed into the frat house mentality they have been for the past 2-3 years. It isn't the moderators (or lack thereof) that are the problem (except for one)...it is that the DB's are looked at and run differently than they were by the original owner.

Rebecca, look back in the post history to around 2003-2005 and see how things were then. All the proof you need is there.

Okay, that's it. Back into retirement now.

And in the past year YOU and others are finding these boards obnoxious.

Let TER know this and maybe they'll realize that without mods this is not a good way to have boards run.

But I am guessing that TER has a different idea in mind...and your opinion (or mine) are of no importance.

Carry on your "intelligent" discussions on nothing.  Or are there really important issues that haven't been discussed thousands of times already?

Now it is quite apparent that TER plans on banning members (on both sides) that don't "play nice".  What is their agenda?  As clarence pointed out below...they won't discuss openly.  But if TER is happy to have these formerly banned people on these boards...along with their reviews and such.  It seems like that is the only motivating factor here.  And obviously (at least to many members) puts all of us at risk.

The whole point of any community is to share information that is relevant to the issues.  And when all of it is censored...then there is NO point in having a community.

Just sayin

no point in having a community if its filled with  assholes LOL !
the admins do what they can, money talks - so if you can afford vip account they might not necessarily do whats best for the site but whats best for pockets.  idk i think i ranted enough - but my point has always been the same..no need for hostility on neither end , provider or client.

i think we should all stay on topic which is SAFETY above all!

i try to be friendly even with the jerks on the boards bc honestly - love prevails :D
i love people in general and wish everyone the best luck in life.
i hate seeing ppl get bullied or when someone disagree with their point they'll totally bash them and then the whole squad jumps in on the action - i mean some times some of these posts are like "REALLLY?" "did you proof read before you posted!?!?!" lol..idk maybe im a softie

Some of these people just need to get laid. If only there were some place that like minded individuals could get together and talk about the hobby/profession in a constructive forum. A place where we could share funny stories and get or give advice from our experiences. I heard someplace like that used to exist., lol

you are spot on..the boards use to be fun and a place for some good discussions..now the rabid dogs have taken control with insults..name calling..and pure vitriol..most are aliases hiding behind a cloak of cowardice who get their jollies off fucking with posters who want to engage in an intelligent discussion..they fucking love me..

when i used to work there i used to hate having to post  on the boards, for some odd reasons some of the girls had it out for me - idk what i did to anyone on the site but they would talk senseless things about me - i guess it's a curse to be a unique individual on these boards bc a lot of ppl will have it out for you over a too graphic pic or a "ghetto" comment..like geez chill and smoke one.

is not horrible as you deccribe! There are over 6 million peolpe here and believe me I have met some wonderful ladies AND gents in Atlanta.  LOTS of awsome talent here so your loss there!

Just never seems to work. There was a problem child on the (unmoderated) sports board a while back - the regulars would fluctuate between advocating ignoring the guy, and posting angry responses to his rants :-) Nobody could hold back long enough... added to the mix were newbies who didn't know the "rules" and would get involved. If I remember correctly, they actually added a moderator to that board just because of him - and then he would start changing his account name to try to slide back in :-)

amen.... I think of TER like a little community, a town sort of...

You have lots of personalities, and not everyone gets along all the time and not everyone likes everyone... but you have to have thick slin and take everything with a grain of salt....


No need to get your panties in a bunch over a post on a message board.... just have fun, and relax!
