I was tld that my txt msg lingo on these boards don't enchance my persona. I know there is a wide variety of ages that participate on this board and maybe the older generation isn't too suavy on the text lingo.

But, yes, it will bother guys like me and many others.  Here's the thing, dear.  Most of the guys here are older, experienced mongers.  We're computer-savvy and we know how to text.  But we don't generally communicate in short-hand and we value clear communication and language skills (well, not all of us, but many).
So you'll not present yourself well, even though you may be well spoken in person.  The result will be negative for you in two senses.  First, you'll get flamed for it.  If you don't care, fine.  Second, guys who care about this may decide not to see you, so you could lose business.

If the purpose of written language is to communicate a thought, and you readily acknowledge that many here are not comfortable with the truncated style of text-speak, then why would you choose to use it? That is both lazy and inconsiderate.  
This hobby is already plagued with an incessant litany of acronyms, abbreviations and vulgarities masquerading as adjectives. We need not hasten the erosion of literary language with the adolescent blather of teenagers

Spelling out words is not difficult and some who don't are just plain lazy and sloppy which are another couple of reasons why I would bypass them.

Practice the goddamn rules of proper English composition when you have a full sized keyboard and no "character limits".  
If you practice proper English composition and spelling on discussion boards you’ll learn not to misspell so many rudimentary words like "savvy"

So many people primarily use their smart phone to connect.  As great as they are (and I love my G3S) even a good virtual keyboard isn't as easy to use as a real, full-sized one.  That encourages text-speak.

I would pay big money to see Rasha give her a good tongue-lashing.  As long as I could join in.

I haven't seen shorthand used for around thirty years.

...as for the text talk I don't care for it. Yes, I'm older but the issue is text talk doesn't always make sense. It is sometimes counter intuitive. Then add auto correct to it and you have gibberish. Text talk is for limited character communication. Here on TER you have all the characters you need. Please use them. Communication is most important on a message board. When there is no body language to read and/or no voice inflection to hear the written word becomes all important. You must always consider your audience when attempting to communicate. Especially when that audience is also the target group for your business. I do pay attention to how a provider communicates and I will pass on by if I start scratching my head wondering what the neck I just read.

with Text Speak...   It's not a "rule" but individuals trying to help you connect with potential clients.  Not every client is a TER or even other boards members...  but those with disposable income sufficient to play are often more mature gentlemen.  If you can not take the good suggestion in the spirit in which it was offered, then perhaps the service industry in not a good fit for you.

And this is from angel herself.  Dungy wanted to get with her but had no fundage.  He talked her into having him screen for her.  Big mistake.  Not only did dungy have no clue, he started acting like he was her manager, telling guys what they need to do to see her. Playing the pimp. But that's not all...He started emailing her and became a total pest.  She said, "deal off, go away."  Dungy started stalking and harassing her until a bunch of us outed him.
Oh, and as Curly mentioned, dungy tried to see her but not pay and give her an IOU.
Bottom line, what a freakin' lame-O.
Of course, he'll deny it.  But if anyone wants to do a search from a couple of years ago, it's all there.  No wonder dungbeetle left the boards for about a year and only came back when he figured everyone who knew that story had left.

No, but I'm on my smart phone and what I write is very understandable, I'm not writing a final and if its that big of a deal to some they can msg me and if I have time I'll "translate" ad the values to the words.

With the amount of disrespect, I wldnt want to see u either. It's not o.k to use text lingo, but its o.k. to be rude and disrespectful to people you know nothing abt from a single post. Maybe a lot of these women shld see the picture for more than what it is, I wldnt dare risk coming in contact with a lot of u guys and your aggressive, rude, disrespectful word choices on these post either. So believe me its a two way street, on who would not see who.

Lazy and inconsiderate? You sound silly too, its my programmed smart phone and everyone who commented on this post Read and understood what I wrote. As far as writing full sentences for the convenience of this review board, I think not. You all are right this is not the group of people I'm trying to impress or attract anyways.  

I read a lot, everyday; not on TER, but many other sources, and because of that, if a writer makes it difficult for me to read and comprehend their thoughts, I just quickly move on. When the shoe is on the other foot, and I want to have my thoughts understood, I work to communicating as clearly as possible. I'm not always successful, but I put in a decent amount of effort. If you are just throwing your thoughts out there with little attempt in formulating them, and communicating them in readily understandable manner, then that's OK, however you may receive very little response, or even negative responses.

Exactly so the abbreviated lingo in TER is ok and approved because you all understand it correct? But to an outsider or newbie it may appear to be silly. Text lingo has become second nature especially to the new generation, and if you didn't grow up during this new era then it may be difficult for you, but I'm pretty sure you understand what is being said. Blather of teenager? LOL Everyone text I'm sure, not just teens. Who are you trying to impress with what you wrote?
