I do not think it is possible to maintain the required level of hygiene.

Devices, browsers, networks, IPs, cable companies and carriers and the various accounts? Not that using Twitter = you go to jail now! or = your old lady busts you but still...

I have noticed consistent feedback from my followers who are gentleman in the hobby.

I look at any social media that's available.  And thru it I've found a lot of interesting tidbits, like a lady I really wanted to see was a total lesbian, with a wife, and that another hated men of color even though not one review said she had any ethnic restrictions.  Now I really don't care what a lady does in her private life, or who she chooses to see or not see.  But these ladies were people I was real interested in seeing, and were charging 500 to over 1K an hour, an amount I was more than willing to pay.  However, I'm not going to waste my time with some one I feel I probably won't have a good time with, way to many other fish in the sea.

In short, the more you put yourself out there, some body's gonna see it.

And then set everything to private. It's not like Facebook where the profile needs to be linked to a real person.

Don't fool yourself.

Cookie trails and other undetectable and undeletable digital tidbits will interconnect your various identities whether you like it or not. The reach is enormous and you can't stop it with "settings" or other too-simple methods.

I don't waste my time with Twitter pages. I have no interest in knowing that you just bought a new pair of socks or are hungry and headed out to get a sandwich. Pictures (to non-members) are usually hidden or even private for followers only.  Choosing to FOLLOW someone's twitter account is even more dangerous from a privacy perspective.

Social Media is a Big Bad Idea waiting to undo you

If we're referring to a guy who's using a shared device and common browsers, then yes, he's being careless about cross pollination. But for the guy who has dedicated hobby devices and accounts, then I don't see the "red alarm."

Well, there you go. Who uses dedicated devices these days? That's HobbySafety Level 2 (HSL 2) protection.  Even that doesn't always worrk. There's always ISP logging and why did your Comcast or Verizon connection link MAC address X to Disney.com but the same router connected MAC address Y to WhoresRUs.com 15 minutes later?  Not so separate anymore.

Until fairly recently, I used to keep things separate but I can't do everything I have to do like that anymore. Real email, hobby email; real shopping, hobby shopping :-)  real forums, hobby forums. What am I supposed to these days, carry TWO smart phones, TWO tablets, TWO laptops?  My old hobby dedicated hardware couldn't keep up with the technology so it's retired. I will bet that the VAST majority of us no longer (if ever) used completely separate hardware.  (There's a poll question for you to post!)

Use computer A - FF for email-1. Use Computer B - Chrome to buy a book on Amazon. Use Computer A - Safari for a DIFFERENT email account email-2 and I've suddenly got side bar ads telling me that since I liked a book on Amazon, I might like these 50 other books. It is an insidious, evil web that they weave.

TER is relatively clean, as far as I know. I doesn't have tentacles to spread into the soft tissue of my regular life.  Cookies and histories can be deleted ... but maybe not even 100%? I block Flash (Providers: STOP USING FLASH!!! DANGER!!!), I block scripts, I do as much as I can to keep the TER and related activities as stripped down and hygienic as possible.

Social Media, OTOH, seeks to insert itself and infect every aspect of your life whether you want it to or not.

I want to surf in jeans and T-shirt, not in HSL 4 gear

I find it very entertaining and educational... wink, wink... 😎

review twitter daily for those I have chosen to follow.  The ladies I prefer to follow are discreet.....no provocative comments or pictures. Their posts give me a better sense of who they are (and who they aren't). There are multiple potential downsides to twitter, but I find it a remarkable marketing tool if used properly.

..one actually has a few interesting things to say but it is mainly for the photos of her. The other is a mindless twit but she is gorgeous and sometimes posts pics.

I didn't understand the purpose of Twitter so I never had an interest to start using it.  As a mature provider, I try to use tools to promote myself that my target clientele would be likely to use (Men over 35).  I never thought Twitter would add any avenues of exposure for myself with that crowd.  I was mistaken.  They're out there and read my feed.

I suppose it's an appropriate venue for advertising, but that's so boring.

during my recent visit to Chicago.  Two of these guys had plenty of reviews and/or WL.  The other was a relatively new RS2k guy.

Should I tweet about them or post about them on FB?

Maybe that's petty, but damn it!  No call, no shows from guys with WL and reviews?  Come on.  I don't think we are allowed to post about them on TER, are we?

But, Chicago is still my favorite city to tour and I loved my guys who showed up!  As always, loved you guys

hi there babe

i can't see why not

alley

xo

I love interacting with the other girls.

Follow me @AspenAshGFE!

It's someone I'm thinking of seeing.  When doing my homework I check out everything i can.  Other than that, no I don't follow at all.

I have an anonymous twitter account for the hobby, so I occasionally check out a few providers twitter feeds.  However, I don't use twitter to contact any providers, since it's too public.

A while back, the Library of Congress was also archiving tweets.  I don't know if it's still being done, but some providers tweets may be in the historical archives for future generations to read. :-)

If you're active enough, it's a great way to let people know a bit more about your personality, that's for sure.  I'm a fairly avid twitter user, but i mainly use it to interact with other sex worker types.  I think if you use it as a genuine platform for self-expression sprinkled in with things like photos, occasional tour dates, and other things, it can be successful.  I try not to overwhelm those who follow me with spammy ads or tour date announcements too often.

I've met a handful of long-term, really great clients via Twitter. IF you decide to follow me though, be prepared for the occasional and intentional ugly selfie.

There are two good reasons to look at a provider's Twitter account, if she has one.

1) The content may give you a sense of her personality and style that you cannot always get from her reviews.

2) She may have more candid photos of herself on her Twitter account that give you a better idea of how she actually looks in person than her glamour shots.

I have seen at least two providers whose Twitter accounts helped me make up my mind to see them, and both experiences were great (9s and 10s in both performance and appearance)

LOL, thank you for getting my username.

By the way, ladies, if you use your Twitter account on your smart phone, please ensure that you disable the geolocation feature. Also, if you post photos that you took with your smart phone, it is a good idea to scrub them and remove any geolocation or other metadata.
