A while ago I tried Ashley Madison, Plentyoffish, sugardaddy, adultfriendfinder, and even craigslist. My experience was that the ones you pay for (AM, etc) are basically just scams, where the vast majority of the "women" are fake accounts just trying to get you to pay more. There are a couple articles on the web that teach you how to screen the profiles, etc, to increase your chances of getting a real person, but it's still stacked against you and the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth. The articles seemed to generally agree, though, that Plentyoffish was your best shot (the articles could, of course, be wrong). I msg'd maybe 50 women on there and none of them (0) actually read my msg or looked at my profile before deleting it. It's understandable... they probably get 50 msgs a day. So my strong impression was that success on sites like that is a numbers game where your success ratio is actually lower than if you were to approach random women in the grocery store.
Since I was looking for something casual (like you are), I never tried Match.com or any of those more relationship-oriented sites. But I assume those work slightly better, because I assume the M/F ratio is better. But, of course, that isn't the kind of relationship you're looking for.
For my time, money, and sanity, I've pretty much settled on a combination of old-fashioned getting out there and flirting with random (real!) women, plus seeing providers. I really dislike the dating sites now.
Dating Website do they really work... there are thousands of the screaming Affair and meet the women of your dreams... But do they really work... I mean on ter.. you can meet the women of your dreams... You can eat dinner with her and have her.. Lol Anyone found a true top of the line dating website that will really pay off ... Some you have to pay for some you dont... I am not seeking a girl friend just a happy medium from a steady girl and a provider... Getting harder and harder in life to find what you are looking for... Just give me you thoughts... I am recently divorced and getting bored and frustrated fast...

Plan mini vacations to big USA cities like LA, New York City and Miami. If you can travel internationally for business plan stops in London, Prague, The Netherlands and Luxemboug. The variety in the listed cities is stunning. Get you fill in one of them, then patch in a decent local provider in between. I have no intention of getting married and don't want to lead women on that I do, meeting beautiful providers meet my sexual needs and allows me to focus on professional pursuits at all other times.
I've met women from Ashley Madison, and from Philanderers.com. But there are a lot of fake profiles. I even recognized one woman on AM that used the same photo as her escort ad on Backpage! But there are real women on those sites. They're usually the one's WITHOUT photos!
From my experience, many of the web based dating services are indeed scams. ESPECIALLY the ones that flaunt hot pics of women. These of course are fake profiles, and I think that most regular women get intimidated by them, ironically. So not only do you not have a chance with these fake profiles, but very few regular women are going to participate.
More regular sites like Match and others like it, have women expecting the world. Many very plain looking and boring personality women, who are quite self-consumed, for some reason get the notion that they are a hot commodity. I chalk it up to the feminist era, that has brainwashed women into thinking that they are "it", and many simpish dudes who have also bought in, and lick their boots.
Anything substantive is going to require a give and take on both sides. Too many people of both genders, seem unwilling to really grasp this. And since we are immersed with a gender war, that has made every bit of conversation fall into gender politics, it's quite difficult these days.
Here's my take on dating websites, based on my experience with AFF.
There are a number of real women who are members of dating websites because, like you and I, they are interested in hot sexual encounters with strangers. But I have heard that the number of men vs. women on most sites is something like 12 to 1.
It will take some serious effort to get a date on such a website. My estimate is that about one in ten women replied to my introductory message to her. Taking that one step further, about one in ten of those who replied resulted in an actual date. So, translating that into real numbers, after a few hundred initial contacts, I met four ladies.
I can make two generalizations about the women I met. One, I would not rate them between 7 and 10 on the "TER attractiveness scale." Bear in mind, I am in my fifties, so the women who I met were also in their fifties, and have not taken care of themselves as well as the fifty-plus ladies I have met though TER. Nice ladies, but not strikingly beautiful. Two, all of the women I met love sex. I should repeat that. They all love sex. I still see one of the four a few times a year when I travel to her town.
So I think the dating sites work if you are willing to put in the effort. To look at it cynically, remember the TER mantra - "There is no such thing as free sex." Whether the cost is cash, effort, time, independence, sanity, etc., you are going to pay some way or the other.
