Variety IS the spice of life and, if nothing else, this
is one of the best benefits of "hobby", IMHO.

(July 01) Scientists at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College in England say men would rather spend their lives with a beautiful older woman than a plain younger one. "We found that men would chase beautiful women, even if they are older and could give them fewer children," says Dr. George Fieldman. "Men prefer attractiveness over youthfulness when selecting a long-term partner. You'd think that men would always go for 20-year-olds, but they don't."

It seems to me that men spend plenty of time chasing both young, plain women; older, beautiful women; and a multitude of other combinations as well. Although certain individuals may show a predilection in one way or another--isn’t the experience of variety a man’s greatest preference? It seems as though a study which asks a man to choose between youth/plainness and maturity/beauty is nearly asking him to go against his basic nature...with all the many options to explore--why choose at all?
