...I can't possibly imagine caring enough to start a thread about it.  How do you know how much the lowest paid provider makes by the way?  LOL, just curious...

A website should have pictures, rates and contact information.  I don't care too much about the look as long as I can find out what I want to know. Honestly, the two gals I am seeing right now don't even have web sites!  I know we live in the internet age but I'm much more interested in how a lady impresses me "in the flesh" than on the web.

But some of these sites are gaudy, swampy and hard to navigate. Most of them do look like shit, but no reason for me to care as long as the info I'm looking for is available on them, as you said. Can't think of a time when a girls website quality, or lack thereof, changed my mind about her one way or the other. But it's possible, if I think on it, that something about a girls presentation has swayed me in the sense that I might have moved her to the top of my hobby to-do list.    

Still...there is something to be said for nicely designed, original, easy to navigate, well thought out website. I think it does play a part in creating a certain perception about the girl, and in a business of fantasy, perception matters.

A fancy website makes me think this girl is much more serious about what she does - even if that perception is false - I feel that way. And sometimes the atmosphere created by it has a certain allure to it that peaks ones curiousity more so than a blank page with stats and typical blah blah smart classy sexy blah blah.  

Oh well. Anything is better than those stupid fucking BP ads wHEre dA GurL CANt sEEm 2 FiGEr OuT THis KEybOArD ThINgY.

The lowest paid provider makes well over 10x as much as me, but over half of them create free cookie-cutter websites that are plastered with ugly ads. And out of the remaining websites, most of those look like they were made ten years ago and have outdated and useless link directories or banner pages on them. There are only a handful of nicely designed sites out there and those are virtually impossible to find unless you happen to run across the escort on a site like this one.

They're often up for link exchanges. Can't post an ad on many major directories without having a backlink using their graphic.

......we all come from different places financially.  Some ladies are part time to the EXTREME in the demimonde, so don't care to invest $$$$ for a website.  Some ladies are "wealthy" by American standards and do this strictly for fun, therefore can spend $$$$$$ on websites and advertisements.  Some escorts are single, some are married, some are single mothers providing for a handful of children or a sick relative.  

Some companions haven't completed high school, some hold PhDs.  Some live in weekly rentals, some own numerous properties across the country/world.  Some even use dial up internet service still!  Ouch.  

Point is, we are all different, come from different places in life but a good companion is a good companion, even if her website is outdated or comes from a cookie-cutter platform.

You sure about that?  I've made less than 30,000 so far this year and this is my only source of income.  And even if I were making more money, I still wouldn't know how to design a high-end website.

All I really care to see is a few representative pics, location/calender, rates, and a link to a few reviews. I prefer pics to be somewhat realistic. I don't mind a few glamour shots but some of those don't even look like the real girl (of course, some aren't the real girl). The handpicked reviews some choose to place on their site are worthless. If they have been picked and/or edited by her, what are the chances that they will be a fair representation of her?

  I'm all about keeping it simple and real!!

I am probably one of the least active providers on this board and can say I bring in less than $1,00 per month from the hobby, but it has been supplemental income rather than a primary source.

Not everyone is computer savy enough to make their own web site, much less design graphics and manage the sites membership functions on a daily basis or make videos promotional advertising. I was fortunate in that I have a background with computers and come from an artistic family that encouraged art of all kinds. So it was a natural step for me.

The "cookie cutter" sites offer a fan club that members pay for but I can tell you I have never received a dime of those fan fee's when I had one. They don't send them, so you think you're gonna make money but you don't. Then they put their ads on your page to distract the viewer from your page to go look at another one because that banner is coming up on your page.

I would encourage all providers who want to increase their business and have more control over their site to hire someone to do it for them, it is well worth the investment.

I think my site is pretty good Of course, I'm not the one who needs to judge- it's all you lovely gentleman and the feedback I've gotten has been wonderful. Nowhere near perfect mind you, and it still needs some tweaking for sure.

But honestly, how much someone makes per year has no bearing on what the quality of their website is/should be. I designed my site myself and the only thing I pay for is my hosting. I have some background in design, but I assume that some ladies don't and therefore it may cost a little more for them to do a site that is pleasing to the eye.

But really...what are we looking at here? The quality of the web design- or the LADY?? Hmmm....

there are incentives for that

i've spoken with a couple of providers who had custom websites done. it simply becomes prohibitively expensive to use and maintain them.

the web designer often takes a look at the rates multiplies by 40 and decides to charge what he thinks could be borne as an expense which is often way above the going rate for webdesign services. some ladies pay, some choose not to.

i've heard stories of unbelievable amounts being paid just to change text that reflects rate changes, specials, or changes in services. i've heard of headaches with losing control over the updating of the content at all.

there may be a business opportunity here for somone willing to provide a fairly priced service that doesn't try to gouge the provider. i remember fondly when that thought occurred to me.  i had an idea how i could employ some SW engineers i've worked with before. i just started to describe it when my companion of the evening said: "i don't want to hear about it. i'm horny. shut up and fuck me."

I wish the "Click on any image to make it full screen" option really did just that.  It would be really really cool.

I check out lots of ladies' sites for market research purposes, and some sites are so fancy they're no longer functional.  

Lots of ladies have flash sites that are too flashy, or use javascript to make basic site elements work.  Apparently they've been sold what they think is a premium design without realizing that many people block flash or javascript on webpages because it cuts down on the number of ads, security risks, etc. Also, generally those elements don't scale well to the screens of handheld devices.

Meanwhile, some ladies are under the misguided assumption that a hobbyist wants some bump-and-grind music to autoplay when the website opens.  Tip: they especially like this when their boss or wife is in the room.

Further, some sites only look good on some browsers or at certain screen sizes.  The more your site relies on fancy graphic files, the less universally it works.

It can be tough to navigate various web designers' offerings if you're not tech savvy, and if you have enough knowledge to understand your options, you're probably only a step or two from being able to do it yourself.  However, most ladies are busy developing other talents.

The search engines index the content behind the disclaimers and, if you're doing a decent job on the website design, they will send people right past the disclaimers most of the time.

I think sometime people put too much though into this and care too much about the providers website when really its not a big deal. I think its about if the lady is reputable, safe to see and gives good service. A few times I had plans to get the nice, big website, but then other things more important came up and I put my thought into that.  I figure as long as I have something out there that has pics, rates and the basic info and I have my reviews then I am fine.

 The type of site doesnt really always represent the lady in the way some might think. I feel that the men are smart enough here and they do their research and then decide who to see. If the website is a make or break reason to see or not to see a provider then OK.

care less the site was custom made or a cookie-cutter style.  I will take a lady with a sexy appearance and great performance over a nice web site any day.

There are other things I look for, but for me, simplicity (I like the Shaker ethic of it is done when there is nothing left to remove) is the key. If I can't find it or it takes too long to load, forget it. One provider's image page tries to load all her images (and they're a decent size) before anything displays.

Flash sucks! Mobile devices generally have not played well with flash, though flash has finally matured an is no longer like a bad powerpoint presentation.

Also, I have seen some gawd awful color choices (PLEASE don't tell me they reflect the real you - LOL) and other things.

All that said, if the reviews speak for themself, and if I can find the basics I need from the web site, we're golden.

Wow. As a professional Web guy I could make a little side money teaching providers to set up and maintain their own sites. Seriously.

You just set up a WordPress site and learn the very basics of image editing -- and you're done. WordPress has a huge selection of free themes available so you can give the site a reasonably personal touch. It would take about an afternoon in person or on Skype.
It used to be that everything had to be built "by hand" and construction of a site would take days or weeks. But now it's all "PreFab" and the only skills required are the ability to click buttons.

i'm not a professional web guy. the SW that i have been involved in is a little more arcane than web stuff but WordPress is a great way to go. it is a step up from the cookie cutter sites but not quite as upscale as a custom design.

it IS easy. what i have done is no charge mods to sites for a few select friends. the side money is not  important to me as intangible benefit. i'd only consider charging for a full custom site. WordPress is too easy to charge for!

in return i've received purely social OTC time (but i always compensate if i get lucky). but most valuable of all a few ladies watch my back.

Having to pay a dedicated website and maintaining that website can be time consuming and costly.
