When you guys are feeling down, does seeing an escort ever comfort you?  Thanks

Of course I am rarely depressed, but then again I try to get laid a lot. Call it preventative therapy. lol

but honey depression is a chemical imbalance. sex won't help sweety. it may suffice for a very short time but you'll regress back to your depressed state. but how would i know?

take more therapy. rofl

Of course this works better as a preventive maintenance type regimen than to cure actual depression. but how would I know, I try to never go long enough without sex to ever give depression a chance. lol

But nookie won't change your life or whatever problems are causing your depression.

Of course, there's nothing wrong with a little temporary distraction to take your mind off of your troubles!

If you are not generally depressed, it may help you get out of the state you are in.

I've done that, and it worked.

Now, if you are always depressed, what shinks call clinical depression, then you should see a professional and get treated for that.

I have a fairly high stress job, and I find that a weekly bout of sex and company with a fine women works wonders for me.

I do feel refreshed, and the ordinary shit I deal with seems to lessen.

But that is not the same as dealing with depression.

If you have true clinical depression, it will all come rushing back to you like the hot kiss at the end of a wet fist, as soon as the orgasm afterglow fades.

Seriously, dude, what kind of answers do you think you'll get on this board?  Perhaps:
a.)  No, don't do it.  In your depressed state, you just aren't thinking straight
b.)  No, don't do it.  You'll just be more depressed when you're done.
c.)  No, don't do it.  You will just degrade some poor girl and pass your negative vibes onto her.
d.)  Add more starting here.

Jerk off.  If it makes you feel better for a few minutes then go get laid, because that will probably work even longer.

Sorry, but behaving myself...well, it's just too late.  I got my comportment lessons from mikey.  No amount of skilled nursing will cure that!  hehe!

Im still a head case, but would be way worse without.  I could also see it fucking you up more, if you weren't real clear on what you were doing and why you're doing it.  For instance, these guys that find love here, whoah, would not want to drink that gasoline.

Jerking off doesn't work since only sex releases oxytocin, the cuddle hormone. This suppresses depression. For me it lasts a week or two before depression can start to kick in again.

I see providers knowing the regular appointments help stave off depression and work-related anxiety.  It's done wonders to keep me positive-minded despite persistent health problems and a lack-luster social life.

The question becomes, can you afford it on a regular basis and will it cause more problems than it's helping?  Obviously, the hobby is addictive and, like any addiction that's used to treat depression, must be approached with caution.

It's not a direct solution for whatever's causing the depression, but sometimes indirect solutions can be very effective.

But I'm wondering if there's ever a case that wouldn't make a guy feel better
unless he has a medical condition that makes it painful to choke the chicken?

Take your money and get some counseling instead, or get a copy of Feeling Good, by David Burns. Only one helped me overcome.

Good luck.

If you are experiencing a Major Depressive Episode, he will diagnose that, and help you in coping with it.

As far as seeing a provider goes, if it is enjoyable, and helps you to get back into "the swing of things", it may be helpful to you.  However, emotional involvement with a provider is a bad idea.

Do not use a provider as a substitute for a qualified therapist, especially if you are experiencing a great amount of distress or an inability to hold and keep a job or have meaningful relationships.
