I’ve noticed everything in Northern California is lumped into San Francisco/ Bay Area. Why is this? Or are there other discussion boards for Sacramento/Folsom? Please point me in the right direction!

I feel like it's safe enough to post there if there is no board for the city you're in. Take the closest city board that exists and go from there. Good luck.

San Francisco is the closest regional board to Sacramento, but just be aware that the commute is about 85 miles and generally takes about one hour and 45 minutes.  The question you should ask yourself is whether guys will drive that far to see you, or would you be better off someplace closer like San Mateo or San Jose, which are also served by the SF regional board and are only 30 or 60 minutes away respectively.  

Yes, this is an excellent idea as I missed that central valley was a region.

But the real question is why anyone would go there if they didn't have to.
