Recently on the DC board a provider put up a post asking for someone to take her to an expensive concert.  In her generosity, she stated that she is not asking for the $1000 seat or even the $600 seat, but the $400 seat would be fine.

Wow.  I thought this is the classic example of someone with a perverted sense of entitlement.  Either that, or this is someone who likes to use people.  What a jerk either way.

I bring this up because it only perpetuates the negative stereotype of a hooker.  She should not have revealed her true character publicly.  All the more fuel for misogynists.

Someone said that entitlement is all the rage in this age of Obama.  I found that ironically funny.

If so, I don't see how that is a "sense of entitlement." I have seen Breaking Benjamin 13 times and have NEVER paid for a ticket. Add to that, a typical concert including drive time there and back, is over 5 hours plus an hour or two of play time.

I loved the one guy's post about, "I don't know why anyone would expect there to be private time included." Are you fkin kidding me? Maybe because this is TER and NOT match.com?

All she did was ask.  If you don't want to do it, then don't do it.  What's the problem?

You certainly know the story of the hooker that was involved in WAY too much publicity.  Sure you do.

Bad pub, my dear, makes people go elsewhere to shop, dine, live and rent hookers. Stop watching "Access Hollywood" and "TMZ" all day long and buy a ticket on the reality train.

Have any other providers been in this situation where you wanted one of your clients (new or established) to take you to a concert or theatre (etc).... vs them making the suggestion?

i'm sure it's no surprise to you that i think your thinking processes are defective.

I read the thread in question, and I fail to see a thing wrong with it. A three hundred dollar an hour wants to be taken to a concert with seats going for around four hundred bucks, she doesn't put any hard and fast rules about what's she's looking for as far as "arrangements" rather she asks the board for opinions. In return she gets slammed by people who haven't even read the thread.

I hate to go all White Knight here, but just what is the fucking problem here. The seats cost barely an hours donation, she wants to go have a good time with someone, what the fuck is the big deal??? I would think that anyone who was interested in an extended date with her would jump at the chance knowing he was taking her somewhere she really wanted to go, instead of some boring restaurant for almost the same amount of money if he/she has any kind of taste in wine. So I repeat, What's the big fucking deal? and what has she done that's so horrible?

I see no biggie. I have no idea that she has done anything horrible. The whole "outrage" over her "feeling entitled" smells to me like possibly an exBF suffering from sour grapes. It happens in the biz.
