OK, I understand when people prefer to chat on phone before making appointments.

I understand asking "what part of city are you in?"

or

"Are you available today?"

or many many other questions.  

But 3am phone calls and questions about things obviously stated in ads are things I DO NOT understand

Q "Are you available today?"
A  "Yes"
Q "how much for an hour"
A "350/h"
Q "but your ad said 300 special!!!"

IF HE HAD SEEN THE AD, WHY ASK???????  Hoping that it magically will be LESS?

New Rule #1.  Anyone asking "how much" will be quoted triple the stated price.

New Rule #2  Anyone calling at 3am will get a call back.  3am of next day.

logically you are completely justified! in terms of irrational human behavior you might want to consider that there may be subtler motives.

likely some of your thus described callers are absolutely moronic and have no clue. others may be socially awkward but need to get more a sense of you than is in your ad.

in my case careful review research and email contact isn't usually sufficient research to guarantee a good time. i do better with a little phone call screening and if i can meet the provider fave to face 5 minutes is all i need to tell if it will be a good time.

i'm picky.

now the closest i ever got to being as stupid in a phone interview as what you've described is thus: "i notice that your Cityvibe ad has $xxx as an hourly rate but your eros ad has $yyy as a rate. which is correct?"

HOWEVER 3am callers get my voice mail and i NEVER call at 3am. i think anyone idiotic enough to call at that hour deserves to not be answered.

unless the 3am call is a regular.....I get those calls all the time...heheheheheh

I refuse to book with a lady without an opportunity to speak with her at least briefly over the phone first, but certainly not at 3:00 AM

I agree with the OP, Three AM phone calls deserve a return call at the same time of day.

But I can tell the next day if there were calls made to me.

As for chatting before the meet .. pre meeting communication enhances the experience in my opinion.

It's amazing how much insight you can get about a person, simply through a short phone conversation.

I automatically assume that any woman that won't speak to me before meeting is either someone withno personality or is so jealous of her time that the session will be rushed.

Obviously that isn't always correct, but as the saying goes, "my money, my rules". Providers of course are free to make their own rules, but as a consumer I make my choices based on certain parameters and this is one of them.

I do have to confess to being extremely horny at three AM before, but I can't imagine calling an unknown Indy at that hour. Now an agency, that's a different story.

I don't believe in talking to clients before we meet, it takes away the intensity  and allows men who intend to pay nothing to get excited for free.

do is check your call history to see if you received a call at 3 am?  My work phone is "off" when I go to sleep at night.  Unless you are a doctor or some other high importance person, why would your work phone be "on" 24/7?

Is when a provider you called and left a message during the day (which is amazing in and of itself as many have full voicemail) gets around to calling you back at 3am and she sounds 3 sheets to the wind. LOL

have to listen to the whole message before you delete it.
