I worked with an agency, the woman micromanaged the mosquitos if she could, you felt like you had to have a hazmat suit at her incall cus she didn't want footprints in the house lol... They do charge extremely low because their belief is that their location is not worth more than that. And they take half or maybe 40% off the girls.
Never again, agencies are weird.
But not "glorified." They're just pimps by another name.
The agency I used one time was a big rip off. But on the other hand I do see a purpose for them. By that ,I mean the girls that are new to the business and have no idea on how to run a business. This may give them a chance to learn some of the do's and don'ts of running it. I maybe all wrong here . But those are my thoughts.
I've always been more comfortable dealing directly with the provider.
I prefer independent providers to the extend that really exists. Some ladies hire someone to handle the email and organize their schedule behind the scene but I still prefer that to an agency where providers come and go and I may not know who or what is really behind the entity. I want to see providers that are in it because they like it and want to be in it. And for the record, if I were an attractive lady I would be a provider.

spne agencies are no more than booking agents and let the ladies set their own rates and schedules, while they take care of advertising and setting appointments. Other agencies are just glorified pimps. And there are a bunch of in betweens.
There are good and bad. I use agencies and I see indies. If the agency meets my standards and I want to see a lady on their list I go for it. We do have some exceptional agencies in my area.
I've seen quite a few cases of touring indies also being listed regularly with well known agencies. Here's how I think it works, and those who actually know can correct my mistakes.
Basically, I think it's a win-win (when touring).
1. Well known indies add to the attraction of the local agency.
2. The local agency, if trustworthy, can help the indy screen and book clients on short notice.
3. The popular indy attracts more calls but, if busy, can lead to more, "Perhaps you'd like to see New Girl, instead." business for the new or less well known agency girls.
And a bunch of other reasons I've posted before but not enough time to type.
Another way that I think it works. Once on the agency calendar for a particular day or days, those days are only booked thru the agency. That is, maybe the indy is visiting Boston for FSSMTW. She will do her own screening / booking / scheduling for FSS and W but agrees to let the agency handle calls and bookings for MT. There has to be some trust, I suppose. If the indy gets a call for T or W, maybe she's supposed to say, "Yes, I can see you, but call the agency to book." or just be trusted to notify the agency herself.
The girls I'm thinking of that do this seem to have been reliably listed with the agencies for many, many months, even remaining on the agency sites with "Touring. Will be back next week." That tells me that there IS trust and no one is screwing anybody in the arrangements.

They set dates for prostitutes and make a living off of it. Is that not the classic defination of a pimp.
Most have never used a real pimp and they nowhere resemble an agency.

How's ur experience using agencies against indie providers? I hear that in big cities like New York, agencies can be a little too demanding and ask you to set a very low price compared to some indie providers in the city. I wonder if working for an agency is just a resource for the provider who prefers to leave the screening and scheduling to others, and if they are fairly diligent in screening. On a diff note, are agencies usually easy to deal with from the hobbyist stand point? Or is it easier to deal with indies. I have tried working for agencies before to see if it would make my life a little easier but I figured it's also good to get to know the client prior meeting. That and also is hard to find agency owners who are all inclusive, that would work with my set donation requirements.
The agencies often take in broke girls who are almost homeless. They lure them in the same way strip clubs and porn agents do it. Often the girls are told "up to 3K a day" or "10K for weekly trips to Europe." While it's possible some smitten guy will take them on a trip and blow 10K on them it RARELY happens.
The advantage to an agency is that they handle screening, booking, advertising and locations. The girls have to pay for the locations. All take 33-50%. 40% is the average around here.
It was not a bad deal for the girls in the pre-internet era. It's not so hot now unless the girl really is flat broke and does not know anything about the business. Any girl can use a smart phone, a free web page, take pictures . run an ad and secure a location when necessary. Some agencies are still mostly outcall.
If a girl really is brand new and needs quick cash an agency can often be a life saver.
Hell yes they are pimps! 40-50% is a big take. In addition to that the girls can NOT offer a lower price if they run an indy ad. If the agency prices them at 400 and they want to be indy at 300 they can't do it. Basically the girls have to work almost twice as hard to make the same amount of money as an indy.
The biggest problem for the girls is when they want to leave. Agencies are not too happy when a top producer decides to go out on her own. Girls have been slandered by agency owners when trying to leave. They often have to change their stage name. In my area there have been three agencies who have OUTED girls who left them.
From the mongers standpoint: Agencies always have girls available on short notice. Indies are shooting themselves in the foot by making it sound like you need to give up your first born child just to see them. Guys are getting tired of girls who are a hassle to see.
Agencies have standards. BBBJTC-CWS is the standard at my favorite agency. Others say GFE or she is gone at the end of the day. Some let the girl set her own limitations but if they are not screaming GFE they won't get booked very often.
From a monger's standpoint it's nice to know that I can get pussy on short notice AND know what type of service I can expect!
The good part is that an agency can keep the girls working. Mongers can get what they want on short notice. The Bad (for the girls but good for the guys) is that the girls have to meet agency standards. The ugly part is what some agencies do when a girl tries to leave or work some on her own
I have always been seeing indies, and it worked for me. Became friends with many, and the friendships have lasted for years.
Screening has never been an issue...I just follow her instructions, and that's that.

Understood , but you are single, well known and part of the M&G/ mixer crowd. I am married and keep a low profile. Some girls are very late in getting back to a guy who has a limited time frame to work in. Some are asking for info that goes beyond regular references. Her "instructions" may include giving up info that some are not comfortable with giving up
For a woman, the pros of working for an agency are a) They provide experience (screening, etc.) that she may not have, b) she doesn't have to spend money on advertising, and c) she doesn't have to deal with the hassle of scheduling.
The cons are a) the agency may take a big chunk of her income, b) may overwork her, and c) may in fact be nothing more than glorified pimps.
For the client, the pros are a) one-time screening gets them many companions, b) someone can be booked on short notice, and c) some agencies rotate touring girls, so therefore more variety.
The cons for the client are a) they will pay more for an agency girl, b) the provider may be overworked, leading to bad sessions, and c) their conscience may bother them, wondering if the agent is nothing more than a glorified pimp.
I have always stuck with indies, and will never use an agency. My ATF used to work for a local agency in Minneapolis, and they were nothing but glorified pimps.
