I recently had a couple of VERY good experiences with a very attractive indpt provider in her early/mid 30s.  At the end of the second encounter, we both got so caught up in the moment that we didnt notice until afterwards that the condom broke.  

I was on the verge of freaking out-will I get an STD?  Will she get pregnant?  I thought she was way too calm saying that "as long as you're clean" everything should be alright since her cycle just passed a few days ago.  Does anyone have any advice?  I'm pretty sure I was clean going in but am getting HIV tests done ASAP (my doc says I need to wait 7 days).  The day after, the provider left me a Vmail after i tried calling her telling me that "everythin's ok", but my doc tells me she would only get an accurate p-test result 3 days after the act.  She seemed nice enough when we were in my apt, but I'm paranoid that some baby will pop out of nowhere in a few months.  I am willing to finance an abortion, but the provider has not returned my calls which worries me.  Any comments would be appreciated.

Seriously, that's not much you can do now so just relax and wait. Sounds like chances of catching anything are not great.

The chance of catching HIV from a known HIV positive partner in unprotected FS has been estimated by the medical profession to be around 1/500 for woman, 1/1000 for man.  This, mtultiplying the minute probability of your partner being HIV positive will place the probbility to near zero.  You do have about 10 percent chance of getting her pregnant if she is not on pill, and measurable chances of catching other STDs like Herpes and Clamydia but they are all curable or manageable.

Its easy to do, and should still give you months and months of further use.  Worst case scenarios, just buy another one - they aren't all that expensive, and I usually have a spare tucked away somewhere for just those situations.

 Oh - and keep your panic to risk assessment in check...without checking with Mathesar's stats, I'm thinking your health is at greater risk by your anxiety and panic than it ever was from the gal.

1) this girl said she had NOT been doing this for a while, so I donno if she's a "pro" yet

I havent tried to call her in a couple of days but will leave her a VM or a text message when I get my HIV results next week which should (hopefully) be negative.  I think this would be a relief for both of us.

Condoms suck. My opinion there is no better feeling that what lay inside those folds...you probably could not have paid her enough to go bareback so consider yourself lucky.

In the 60s, 70s & early 80s, just about everything was BB.  I don't want to downplay the risk too much.  Your chances of getting HIV from a single act of uncovered intercourse is extremely low.  Other diseases are higher, if she's infected with any of them.

Believe me, she won't have a child unless she wants one.  If she wants one, she's not going to decide to do it after a condom breaks with a client.  

You might want to get tested anyway, but I wouldn't rush to clinic unless you have symptoms.

I've had condoms break twice and it was because one ladies used Olive oil to massage herself and me and the other because she used baby oil to massage us both. I was paranoid and got tested and it turned out ok. I avoid seeing any provider that uses any kind of oils with her sessions.

I know from a previous thread that providers use diffrent forms of birth controll that best suits thier bodies health.  But on this topic I was wondering is part of the "new provider kit" you get from the providers union include the morning after pill for situations such as this?

A funny story that happened to me recently was a condom came off, got stuck, inside my provider while I was pulling out.  When she realized it was hanging in there she let out this "oh my god!!" concearned yell that scared the crap out of me.  I later asked her did you yell that becasuse you though you may have gotten pregnant or caught an STD?  She said "no I just did not want to drip on my new comforter".

Her doctor told her she was "very fertile"?  That seems like a very odd statement. There's no way of ascertaining a women's level of fertility other than that she is normal - ie ovulating roughly every 28 days - or not ovulating normally and therefore has impaired fertility.

To say that a woman is "very fertile" would be like saying that a particular glass of water was "very wet" compared to a similar glass.

The only way you can make assumptions about a fertile woman's relative fertility is by examining her conception history.  If this woman had conceived more than twice in any 12 mth period of unprotected intercourse, then yes, she would, statistically be more fertile than the average women.

Regardless, you had intercourse a few days after the end of her last menses so this would put you on day 7-10 of her cycle.  Even taking into account that theoretically, the sperm can remain motile and effective for around 24 hours after ejaculation (I said, in theory) the majority of women ovulate around day 15 of their cycle, so it's highly unlikely she's pregnant.

I have had my condom busted quite a few times. A couple of providers told me that it happens from time to time. They know the risk and they know that even using a condom is not a perfect solusion, therefore, they look after themselves.

When my condom breaks, I can tell it is gone IMMEDIATELY. One day, my condom broke while doing Greek. I just pulled out my part, washed it with an anti bacteria soap and I pissed to flash inside my part immediately. Got myself tested later just in case - negative - and then moved on for more fun!

If she has told you that she's not on the pill and that her doctor says she's "very fertile" I think she is just messing with you here.  Perhaps because you've gone so overboard with panic about this.  Notice that you've been getting some similar responses here. You're making this difficult to take seriously.

I'm guessing that an abortion would be as high on her list as it would be on yours. Pregnancy tests only show a true reading 4 days after the missed period and since she was at the front of her cycle you will have to squirm as she will for a couple of weeks.

For the record condoms almost never break but you really do need to be certain of the condoms used and use a proper lube. I hate astroglide because it requires reapplication where as KY will get you through thick and thin.

I would check for STD's but don't freak over it. Most girls are pretty clean......not like a bar girl. As much as she remained calm I'm sure that she is having the same worries and taking the same course of action.

As for HIV your chance of catching it from her is very low for the reasons that it's almost unheard of in this community but also because it's difficult for a man to catch it from a woman. She has more to fear from you.

Relax, this happened to me once.

The condom broke as I was puling out.  The amount of exposure was a half a second, to be liberal in my estimate.

She really freaked out -- her worries were about pregnancy, she can't afford a kid, who's going to pay for the abortion, etc...  I hate to seem unsympathetic but it was really amusing as hell.

Downside was this was the first and only time I ever saw this provider.  Too bad, she was a dropdeag gorgeous Panamanian with a killer rack and great muscle tone.  I think she could have become easily an ATF.

I am someone who is not PRO abortion. Not for me to make that clear. But, you are absolutely right! That is a choice that is a personal choice that no one else has any right to judge. I do believe and will always fight to keep abortion legal. The fact that I think that it's wrong is based very much on my own values but those values should never step on someone else's values.

Just because it does not affect you is no reason to think for one moment that it doesn't count to others. And, the fact that abortion is even a political issue sickens me! Where does our self righteous government draw the line on personal values???
