Every time I have girls in the US there will be some clients who tell them 'you are awesome but your rates are too low you are worth so much more' blah blah blah
I can only assume that some guys think this is a compliment but the girls always take it literally
After 6 years of tours this normally plays out the same way....
The girl gets the hump with me as she thinks I don't know what I am doing. Girls choose their own rates on my recommendation - normally I say it's best to keep their rates the same as it is in the UK or close to it
So the next tour she puts her rates up even tho I say I don't think it's a good idea, the girls wants higher rates so I have to put her rates up
The girl gets very few bookings then bitches & winges cause she hasn't made money & can't pay her hotel bill

The girls won't tour the US again
If you guys want good girls to tour & not have to pay outrageously for them wouldn't it be better to say 'I wasn't going to see you cause your rates are so high but I am very happy that I did, you are well worth it'
Then you don't have to pay more on a subsequent visit...
The girl I currently have in NYC is $500 per hour, next trip she has told me she wants double that...

spot on..i do it occasionally..i am the guy all my fellow hobbyists hate..it is what the market will bear..i have never told any provider to double her rate..that is insane..i have told many that are new to the game to do it..they have..there business actually increased..incrementally increasing their rate slowly..100 dollars per hour at a time is beneficial to them and their livelihood..they always thank me..some will never increase their rate..most do..i just suggest it..its really up to them..i always will catch heat for it..so be it..this is after all a business..prices on everything in our society constantly are going up..why should this business be any different..
Can bear. I'm all for what a woman charging as much as she can, because I'm an advocate of free market capitalism. If I can't afford it, well, it sucks, but that's life. Of course, for selfish reasons I would keep my mouth shut, but I can't blame a guy who tells a girl that she should charge more when she should.
It's probably because I don't believe in the "bros before hos" theory that some pepple here really subscribe to. I mean, if I correspond with you offline and we're cool, that's one thing. But if you are just some random poster on this board, I feel no need whatsoever to look out for your best interests. If you can't afford her, tough shit.
In the end, a provider can offer her services at what she wants. A client can bid her services at what he wants. Only when the two meet is there a transaction.
If you find a good deal, keep it to yourself.
Having said that, I understand why guys say it.
I do agree that many girls underestimate what an agency can do for them, and when they go indie and have to do all the screening themselves, they find that it's not nearly as simple as it seems.
In this day and age, though, there are lots of girls doing this for the first time, so I wouldn't worry about the problem girls who think they can charge more. Let them go and do their thing. You will always find a replacement.
I know what it is going in and if I think I'm getting a good deal, goody for me. If it's a higher rate, obviously I'm ok with that if I book.
I'm surprised that this has happened to you often enough to cause you to post about it. I'd think it'd be the rare dumb-ass that would tell a girl she needed to raise her rates.
First, they are trying that out as a way to stroke the gal's ego.
Second: They might be thinking that if she is more pricey, fewer guys will see her and he'll have her more to himself.
Neither is a very good reason to say it, IMHO.
There are several factors that I consider when planning to book. Her looks do count... but balanced with her performance... but then one must... like real estate... examine the comparisons in the same neighborhood. It's very easy to price yourself right out of the market.
Doubling the rate is likely (economic) suicide. I don't know the rates in NYC... but if her dance card is reasonably full at 500... going up a little at a time & tracking the effect is smarter than go for broke.
I don't know who is telling them to double their rates... it's nuts. In my local area, a lady I have seen, raised her rates 25%. Her traffic fell to near zero. She returned to her original rate & the traffic still hasn't returned... apparently clients quickly found alternatives. She's now running Specials below her original rate to try to regain her market share.
Going rate for the high-end providers in NYC is about $500/hour. Some girls charge more, and some charge less, but if you look at the NYC ad boards, you will find that most charge $500/hour.
It's funny what $100 either way does. Sometimes when a girl who is $500/hour and can easily get that goes to $400/hour, her business picks up significantly. Something about seeing that "4" in front makes all the difference in the world. Other girls charge $600/hour, and of course that takes a lot of guys out of the game. It's strange, indeed.
I think the problem with the agency girl is that she just wants more NET to her. With most agencies giviing only 50% to the girl, the girl in question is likely only seeing $250, and she thinks she can get a lot more. She thinks she can get $500/hour easily if she getting booked at that rate, BUT she doesn't want to give up the services an agency providers (answering phones, screening, booking, and of course their famed Rolodex). But all of that stuff is worth something, and if she thinks that it isn't worth 50%, then she should go indie or look elsewhere. Or she could charge $300/hour and do it all herself and probably be booked all the time. But of course, she can't book new calls when she's in the middle of a session, and she will need to spend time she could be working when she needs to screen guys.
Most girls who rely on the agency to do this figure it out quickly enough. I know one girl who was a provider at an agency. She had a falling over because she felt that $250 was too shitty as a net amount to her, and tried to go indie. She asked me and a few other guys to help her get bookings, which was fine. I referred her to a few other buddies in this hobby, and she got some appointments. But her terms were just downright fucking terrible. She had no idea how to structure her business, didn't even know the ins and outs of how to book a hotel room in my city (she was visiting from another city), and then gave me the most insane compensation structure as an incentive to get her referrals. And guess what? Once I gave her a referral, that was it. She had his contact info, and I was out of the picture to get compensated for the introduction (i.e. free session).
She quickly learned that it was a lot harder than she thought, and has even tried to get another hobbyist to help her (that guy PM'd me and we talked about it, and he is passing on helping her after the intel I gave him).
Bottom line...agencies provide a certain amount of benefits to a provider.
If the provider in question at this agency thinks her cut is too small, then she can either go to another agency that pays a bigger cut, or she can indie. And she will likely go back to her agency, is my guess. The market will bear her $500/hour rate. It won't bear a $1000/hour rate, I'm guessing.
I've TOFTT a number of times and seen providers when they only have a couple of reviews and their rates are low for their looks and quality of service. I've walked out of those sessions, thinking that she could have charged more and I would have gladly paid. I just keep my mouth shut.
I don't & another well known NYC agency that I know of doesn't
We pay advertising costs (for a 1 week tour I will spend around $300), deal with about 100emails a day (of that about 2 may actually turn into bookings), phone calls, headaches with time wasters & idiots & rude people. Girls fuck up jobs (they fall asleep or go AWOL or get sick) & we get the blame (& give a discount to appease a client out of our pocket)
The girls in get the good job (the shagging bit) & most of the money
Don't get me wrong I actually really enjoy my job but no way do I get paid 50%, I wish

My girls are London based & go to New York for 1 week (maybe once or twice a year). It costs £500 for a flight & around $2500 or so for a week in a hotel. So they need to be booking meetings not sitting in their room on their high priced ass
2 of my girls used to go to NYC together a lot used to always joke how they were worth so much more as they heard it from so many clients. They knew it was just a compliment but not all girls are like that & many take the 'raise your rates' literally
The girl in NYC this week told me that one client spent time during a their meeting showing her reviews of other girls & girls he wanted to see & they were all over $800. The funny thing is I know the client; he doesnt book the high priced girls when I have them touring. Always the $500 girls

On another note...you just also proved my point that if high-end London girls can't get $800/hour (and that's not including the novelty factor of the hot accent and the fact that they aren't here very often), then the going rate seems to be $500/hour or around there.
Maybe the one who is named after your fair city can pay heed.

I am definitely not saying what rate I think girls should be. Nor am I saying girls don't work @ $800+ as they do & I know lots of girls who do very well @ $800+ per hour (I work with some)
I don't care if a girl wants to be $500 or $800 or $10,000 an hour; that's her choice
I just wish that clients wouldn't say things like 'you are worth double your current rate, I wasn't going to see you as I generally don't see cheap girls' when the girl is $500
Put yourself in the girls shoes....You are told that you could be getting double so it makes you think your agency isn't representing you properly so you feel ripped off and disheartened (unless you have mates who have done NYC tours & know it's just what guys say as a compliment)
If a girl does 1 hour @ $500 then the next time she tours is $1000 she doesn't get much. I can only assume it's cause guys think she got greedy & that isn't a pretty trait. If she had started on $900 & put it to $950 she would be just fine
