I got a text recently from a woman I was with.  She informed me that she has tested positive for Chlamydia.  Don't really want to take this to my family DR but know I need to be tested.  Any thoughts on where I should go would be appreciated.

like HealthOneLabs.com.  Choose the tests you want, pay online and then take the form they send you to any Quest location for the blood draw.  Quest will send the results to HealthOne and they will tell you in a day or two to login and get the results.  Easy peasy.  (Don't go to the same Quest office that you do for your family doctor.)

I think it is safe to go to the same testing lab as for your family doctor.  There are really stringent privacy rules, so even if your doctor found out for some reason, he or she is strictly limited in to whom they can disclose info.  I know when my wife was in hospital for some procedures she had to give permission for me to get updates on her procedures.
.
That stuff is only known inside the medical profession and the CIA.

I would say go to your doctors and get tested.

Unless you have your significant other as a need to know it should be Confidential.

Planned parenthood is no bueno if you have insurance. Your Dr is best & just tell them you don’t want to share your information with anyone.

Been pretty straight forward and easy to use for me.

Always a good idea to be checked semi regularly.

I completely agree with this! STD testing every 3 months and a full panel 2 times a year from your primary care physician, is paramount in this arena of adult arena of fun.

"semi-regularly", does that mean you get checked in between diseases?

I used to get freaked over this shit.  I've had occasion to test over the years, maybe a penis balanitis or something or other, all turned out negative.

Once checked out Planned Parenthood (> 7 years ago) with blemish on dick, and they said they could give me these tests (clap, syph, HIV, chlamydia) but since I didn't lie on my income in the screening process, they wanted >200 USD donation, funds I could use elsewhere, if you know what I mean.

So, in SF Bay Area, I went to famous Berkeley Free Clinic, stood in line, took a blood screen (all negative), and had a visual inspection, with a couple of dudes checking out my junk because I freaked out because it might be a genital wart (HPV) or a herp (for which there was no test at the time),  But they said just might be ingrown follicle or blemish.   I went away, but the issue went away too.

Several years before that I went to Kaiser P., my provider at the time, similar situation, had a cute young female asian MD check out my junk, recommended the panel (clap, syph, HIV, chlamydia), all negative, she referred to dermatology, he said probably hair follicle issue.   No worries, it went away quickly.

Hey, someday my day of reckoning may come up, but it's been all false alarms.
