is that you be positoned anywhere on the planet so long as the links you post go back to a server that can be physically anywhere. The only criteria is that it be operable. So when you move and if you've been a good girl (and I suspect that to be true) your followers will beat a path to your door.

If you own the domain name, can't you just host it somewhere else.

If your old webmaster owns the URL, you are out of luck.  Go with the new one, post the changes to all the sites that have you listed, and post it on the boards.  Yes, you will loose a bit for a while.  Your regulars have your number and email so they should be fine.  The occasional, can always check the reviews and find the information again.  The real key is how much you want to dump the old guy.

I like your domain name; if you don't own it it would be difficult to get it back. If your regular clients visit TER or other boards than it should not be hard for them to find your new URL in your profile.

If you do get a new domain name. . . Even though a friend did the new web site for you you should still own your domain name. I do web sites for provider friends. I always encourage them to own thier domain name and hosting service, and give me access to manage it. I told them if our relationship goes sour I could be very nasty.

I just changed my URL for the same reasons.....It was long over due and I'm so glad I did it! Just update as much as you can , and leave the rest to word of mouth, you will be fine.....
