In real dollars?

IMO, if a provider raises her rate, that's her business.

But, almost every lady I see is at the top of what I am comfortable spending.  So if it goes up 100 bucks an hour, that would more than likely make me look for a new playmate. And I would tell her. (Nothing personal)

If she chose to keep me at the old rate, even for a couple sessions, I would feel pretty good, and continue to see her for sure. (Knowing that the old rate would be temporary of course.)

50 bucks might not be a deal breaker if she is a good fit, and we have had great times together.

I've owned and operated my own business for 18 years and really wish I could raise my rates, but there is a fine line when it comes to keeping clients happy and competition almost always dictates pricing.

P4P seems to have it's own set of rules.
YMMV

Since there was a recent heated thread on grandfathering I wanted to give my thoughts.

It's no better than a bump pass on an airplane.

Girls are worried about losing some business when they raise their rate which is why they often post a notice about grandfathering tricks at the old rate.

Then if they discover that they are not losing any business at the new rate the grandfathered tricks are no longer worth anything to them. Therefore they will usually terminate grandfathered clients ASAP.

Don’t believe you were ever grandfathered because of chemistry.

In other cases you may get an E Mail for a grandfathered special. Contact her a week later and the old rate is no longer good. Then a few months later you may get an E mail offering the cheaper rate again!

In other words the grandfathered rate is really only good when the rents due or her boyfriend needs a new set of rims.
Even if she honors the grandfathered rate you become a low priority item for the girl. She will cancel you out in order to see the guy at the higher rate.

This is a ruthless business and grandfathering is mostly a sucker bet.

There is nothing that makes me laugh harder when my posts go WAAAAAAY over the head of manginas.

And nothing makes us all laugh harder than at pathetic bitter old bitches like you coming here looking for validation for your misery.

I think your tampon is wedged in too tight.

...The mistake she made was being too honest and telling me that's why she was cancelling.  She should have used the standard excuses - her grandmother died (again), Aunt Flo came to town, etc.  I was pissed off for a while but I got over it...it's a great rate, lol.

She heard about your wrinkly folds of extra skin.

...sorry for you because you're in a straitjacket all day to prevent you from constantly jerking off.

Ok, I got to laugh with you.    "...but I got over it.....it's a great rate". LMFAO. Right? You can't stay mad for too long, at least not til you need some loving at that "great rate". Fully understand, I'd be the same way.

This also gave you the opportunity to pay more.  Schwab investments was worse to me

ONLY real life grandfathers should be grandfathered in.  That way, everyone knows where they stand when rates go up.  Either you can flash photos or grandkids or you can't.  Its that simple.

What is so ruthless about getting an escort? Why are so many men posting things lately about falling in love with escorts they pay to have sex with them? When I desire a monogamous relationship, I always turn to prostituties ...? WTF? Complaining they can't afford higher rates, or not being able to keep seeing someone after a rate change? Find a new one at a lower rate! I've never heard so much whining! Lots of men on this board are starting to sound like cry baby's pouting that they can't get what they want.

Is it a nice gesture? Sure. But like tips, it should always be appreciated but never presumed.  Everyone we deal with in all walks of life raises their rates at some point. I can't remember anyone offering to grandfather me. We all raise our rates too, in our business lives. Such is life. Price elasticity is determined when customers decide whether or not to look for other's to meet their needs.

Sometimes a decision is based on price. Sometimes it's based on other things.  But the fundamental premise is simple and should be expected, not resented, as the beauty of being in this world is that none of us are indispensable on either side of the equation and THAT is what keeps us on our best behavior if we find someone we want to keep seeing.  Market forces are a good thing - enjoy the ride.

The problem is that some girls put on their web pages "old friends that have seen me within the last six months are grandfathered at old rates."

The guy was NOT expecting a cheaper rate but if it's on her web page the old price should be honored. It usually is unltil she finds new customers more profitable.

Just for the record I have never asked to be grandfathered. I don't think anybody should bother with grandfathering because it leads to more problems than it's worth.

Truth in advertising should be more than merely aspirational.  Just like providers have a right to raise their rates, we have a right to believe what they say. .. at least about something like this lol

tricks, hookers and the stroll.  It makes us all look like sophisticated, educated upper middle class people from the suburbs with 401K plans.  I learned all those words in corporate America during business meetings and sales presentations.

You're mellowing out a little bit.  Frankly, kind of scary.

I have not had this happen to me but if a provider pushed her rates up and down like this, and I was trying to be a loyal and regular client, I would be put off.  On the other hand, companies do it all the time - for instance, food companies will cut their prices near the end of a quarter in order to boost shipments to make Wall Street's numbers - so the providers are just acting like others.

But pay for play is a weird business, one in which customers woo suppliers as much as the other way around.  I think as long as some clients seek out more than just the physical connection, this is going to take place.  If all you're looking for is a person to make you come, you don't like that because it creates competition, inflation and scarcity.

I do believe you can get grandfathered by chemistry.  Some providers respond to behavior beyond the exchange of money, just like some clients respond to behavior beyond sex.  A loyal client who fails to treat their crotch rot can get dumped.  A client who is always cheerful and engaging can get extra time.  Denying that is irrational.

I'm not really sure what would help you out aside from emotionless sex robots, but then I'm on the opposite side of the behavior from just-get-me-off.  I'd ask providers, what would make you loyal to a client who wants to just get off, who doesn't want to buy you stuff of your wish list, pay to have meals with you, and write you sweet notes to you on Twitter, but also doesn't mistake sex for love and doesn't demand attention every 4 hours?

Oh, and "bump pass?"  So you're in (or were in) the airline business?  No one's better at getting the last dollar out of their customers than airlines, maybe you could open a consulting shop offering pricing management tools for providers.  You'd make a mint based on the behavior you're describing.
