Okay.....hmmmm, I have been out of it for a few years and just starting back up to connecting with providers.  I was surprised when asked to pay half the donation through PayPal or Zelle before she would arrive.  Also, requests to have the remainder placed on an eBay card that she would pick up when she arrived.  Not just one provider, but in Tulsa OK like every provider with the same claims about being burned by fake money.

So, I did put money towards a "deposit" through PayPal.  I get message that she is on her way and then a message she was pulled over by police and they read her messages and were taking her to jail for providing escort services.  Then, text me that the police are trying to force her to bring them to where I am but she can pay them off but needs more money through PayPal.

Yes, I know.....laughing......not the kind of story anyone will believe.

I guess the placing money in a white envelope in plain view no longer exists?

I have never prepaid, nor has a provider ever told me that cash was not accepted.  I do avoid those who want deposits, however.  Thanks for warning others of one of the reasons not to prepay.

is to never pay a deposit; it is plainly and simply money at risk.

Now, I won't say I never put forth a deposit. For multi-hour dates and with a very reputable lady I might demonstrate that I have some skin in the game with a small deposit (say 10-20%). Frankly, I do it knowing it is money at risk, funds I am gambling with. With the women I've seen, it usually works out - but I have lost a deposit or two before.

Never have I ever thrown good money after bad in a manner you describe.

The 80 or 90% I still owe, she can pick up off the bathroom vanity or other place she prefers once she arrives at the room for our session.

You do know the police story is a lie, right? To separate you from more money?

Step away from STG and book with more reputable providers.

This is your first post I’ve read where I have to strongly disagree with you. Particularly the statement to the effect “for every guy who won’t pay a deposit there is a guy who will pay”. Child please.

That’s like saying why don’t I jump off the second floor because there are guys who will. For guys who will, It’s due to extreme impulsiveness (little head got the better), inexperience (see Newbie board), or even  mental illness in some cases (mood disorder with hyper sexuality and hyper spending).

I also disagree with the statement most ladies will. I haven’t met one in my last 50 visits i needed too, which includes well known PSs.

I agree it sucks to get burned. But if providers are screen, screen for someone who shows up and pays... I just sayin!

Back to OP, whole story sounds funny because 1. who would pay half deposit? 2. Your reaction to the so called police extortion is so lame.

It appears this was the first time you were seeing her. If so, giving a deposit to someone under ANY circumstances is risky but especially to someone you've never met before.
Also not clear whether your location was your home or a neutral site like a hotel. If it was your home this is a big no-no if you'd never met her before. Even if it was a hotel, it's too big a risk for me.

1. Due to previous provider fuckery , I rarely prepay/pay deposits if I have never seen them. The last time I paid a deposit,  the amount was so low, $50, for a $700 date, I was willing to risk it. It worked out.

2. Deposit by Paypal just seems shady.

When she says for every guy for won’t pay a deposit, there’s another one who will. Intelligent readers would take that as a statement that she’s doing quite well, and has no need to change her deposit protocol.

Your introduction of the jump of the roof analogy was incredibly stupid, to say the least. Trying to link an incredibly uncommon event (jumping off a roof) to a routine event (collecting a deposit) is a really bad start to constructing an analogy.

While we’re at it, your own back story is suspect. You’re comparing 50 dates in a row with no deposit requests to a guy getting back into the game trying to set up an outcall appointment in a lower volume market.  Are you expecting us to believe that you saw 50 straight dates, including porn stars, and not once had to decline a meeting because the provider asked you for a deposit? That tells the rest of us you rarely see independents and spend a lot of time repeating with your favorite agencies.

is complete bullshit.  If the police were interested in you, they would not have let you warn her, they would have had her tell you she was released and that she is still coming to see you.   Police are not going to get involved in a third-party extortion.    This is a shakedown of you by HER, pure and simple.  There are no police, just her trying to find out if you are stupid or not.  Where did you find this gem of a provider?   Lol

Definitely complete bullshit. Remember that she said they discovered her escorting by looking through her phone. If that was true, they already had the OP’s address.

Part II of the scam might still be coming. A call from fake law enforcement. I hope the OP didn’t give that “provider” his home address.

Try to get the facts straight.

Geez. Youd think a guy with reviews since 20007 could do a simple “read my posts” to tell you I’ve been around since at least 2012 on this handle.

If you had more investigative skills, you’d figure out ive been around like you and that I’m THAT guy from New York who pulled and married a PS with a one word stage name that guys then bitched and moaned about how she was gone. So maybe my network for getting PSs and providers and my view on deposits might be different from yours. Since other Johns I like here dont pay deposits, it shouldn’t be such a big deal to you. To reference my post on what’s the same and what’s different since 2014, guess WKing is still a thing too. Geez.

Separately, I don’t view every woman who get deposits as “doing well”. I just presume they’re seeing guys like you (sorry). To use a finance analogy, Your paying a deposit is essentially financing my way because your credit score is not as good (sorry again). If you were around since 2007 you would remember batsh*t crazy Taylor Steele would drone on about getting deposits but actually wasn’t doing that well.

Agree with Donjohn,

Jezz, like you have a motto so do I.

“For every girl that request a deposit there’s three more right behind her that doesn’t request”.

Never a deposit payer here.

Beware of using PayPal.  Their terms of service allow them to seize an account for what THEY decide is a violation.  And they seize the ENTIRE account balance, not just the questionable transaction amount.

They don't need her to take her anywhere. You paid via PayPal so if they are interested they can already find you.

Scam, 100%

1.  I did not post that I paid half of a deposit
2.  I do not believe that I indicated my reaction to the police extortion incident other than laughing about it.  So, why is it lame that I laughed about it?

I am confused because I posted basically asking about prepaying money through a couple of different methods as this practice is foreign to me.  Or wondering why a provider would want a eBay card with cash on it rather than just cash. Again, I have been out of it for some time, so the practices threw me for a loop.

Sorry, but when I read an incredibly stupid analogy, my first inclination isn’t to go do a deep dive on the dumbass’s posting history. Thanks for the bio though. I’m sure there’s somebody out here that cares.

So you’re the one who took that favored PS off the market? A lot of guys thought HepC took her out, so it must have been a relief for them to find out it was just that she had entered into an exclusive arrangement with you.

Separately, if you think one guy paying a deposit is helping to finance your way, you probably ought to stay away from finance analogies too. Given that you’re now 0-2 on analogies in just one thread, you might want to cut your losses and stay away from them altogether.

OP: “ asked to pay half the donation”

That’s what I meant by paying half deposit (a deposit which is half of the donation). I didn’t mean you paid half of the deposit, which would be a quarter of the donation (based on what u told us). When you made the PayPal, did you not pay the half of the donation she asked for?

Ironic that Lane’s confused, because his explanation and follow-up seems to be more confusing to the forum. A general read of his OP indicates he paid her half the donation through an app. Then asked for more money once she was supposedly pick up by the police.

All his clarification says is that he didn’t pay a deposit and he LOL’d the police involvement.  LOL’d to who? The provider? She’s tells you the police nabbed here and your reply to her was LOL?

Bottom line you announce to the board a scam, and imply you got taken for some money. Please satisfy the board’s curiosity that you’ve piqued and fill in the details. How much, if any, did you pay in advance? What did you tell the provider when she asked you for hush money?
