Read the side effects, headache and flushing are common for me. Blood pressure goes down (all the blood is somewhere else) def. Take half a pill, it's plenty and side effects are less, also best results on the second day. Have fun!

OK, free advice: 20mg is not that much.  I wouldn't start with any less. Take it an hour before and don't eat a big meal or drink any alcohol for a few hours before "activities".  

There is plenty of good advice on the use of ED meds if you actually search for it via Google.  This board would not be my first stop...

On one side you say you are "a bit of a hypochondriac" and you seem to lean toward the anxious side. And, on the other side you doctor recommends a dosage of 20mg, and it is standard practice for doctors to start out on the low end of prescription dosages.

So, given that equation, do you really need any of us to tell you how to proceed?

Last summer a Mayo clinic patient was supposed to receive0.3 milligrams of epinephrine for a severe allergic reaction.Instead he received 3 milligrams . No antidote available for many drug ODs icluding epinephrine. He died.
Some TCAs such as Elavil can cause death with only eight times the normal dosage. Eight times is not much if you aren't paying attention to the math.
Drinking alcohol with meds, can lead to a bad count.

so i finally got the balls to go see my doc about my little stress induced ed problems and i finally got a prescription for cialis. kind of nervous as to how much i should take, i am a bit of a hypochondriac so i am afraid if i take too much, too much blood will go down there and it will blow up :O lol.  but can't wait to give it a try to finally have some fun without the limp noodle making several appearances in a night. anyone know the best method to take it? or should i just do as my doc says and take the 20mg up to i think he said an hour before activities. i kinda think i should cut it in half and see how that goes first.

You should not take any and give up sex for good especially since, you are hypochondriac. How about that for a diagnosis?

Don't know about Cialis, but the doc gave me 100mg Viagra so that I could cut them in half and save money. So just take a half, if you don't get the desired results, then take a whole one. Enjoy.
BTW I have found that I don't always need one. I only have mild ED. Doc says that good erections beget good erections, so the pill can get you into the habit of having better erections even when you are not taking.

You consult with a medical doctor and he gives you a scrip with advice on how to use it. Then you go on a sex message board and ask a bunch of non-medical jokers how to take it?

Follow your doctor's advice and you should be fine. If it doesn't work, there are other ED meds you can try....with your doctor's advice, of course.

Most of us are injecting it between our toes.  It hides the track marks, but the method is a bit dated.  I've heard the younger hobbyists are injecting directly into their dicks these days.  But I'm sure injecting into one of the balls is close enough.  You could make a party out of it and inject each other.  

On another note it amazes me how many people are willing to endanger their lives by listening to people other then their doctor about your medications.  It case you missed it these are meds that can and do change your  blood pressure affecting your heart, but by all means ask our board experts.  I'm sure they are far more qualified then any M.D.

You would think they were lecturing to a 15 yr old instead of a grown fucking man. I mean really, who would know better about the effects of ED meds than the guys who actually use them? Doctors are wrong all the time, not to mention the fact that most (the smart ones at least) are constantly worried about getting their ass sued off, and that makes them err on the side of caution, sometimes to a ridiculous degree.

so what you are saying is doctors are never wrong? lol. they are wrong all the time until they are right(think about it), and if i took his advice i am sure i would still be sitting her with a raging hard on.  i cut it in half, maybe a little less then, worked like a charm, no limp noodle appearances! YAY FOR ME!!! and also an almost non existent refractory period with none of the side effects i read about, and about 1hr of total play time.  i know this seems like a pointless post, but you don't realize how ecstatic i am that sex is great again and i just had to shout it out!!!

It may have intensified his experience...if he likes to fuck while he's in the bag...but alcohol counteracts what all ED meds do-help to increase blood flow to specific areas of the body.

I knew someone taking this in his sixties, and it actually caused performance issues. He did better on his own. It probably isn't always the case, but then when he could get it up he couldn't cum so it was complete frustration.

Mikey told me that alcohol intensified the pill. But he was drunk at the time.

I take around 5 mg Levitra, and have played around with 2-3mg, it just is hard to cut the pills that small. Works like a wonder once I get started and then is gone like a good boy when I am done.

Can't see any reason to go above 5mg based on my experience, and I agree you should start low and see how much you need to get your result. Of course, that means you may have another unsuccessful session, or two.

I think it's great that you took charge of your health and sought medical help.  However, the truth is that ED meds don't work for every gent, cannot be taken by those with heart problems and they ALL have potentially lethal side effects (severe hypotension, heart attacks, ventricular arrythmias, sudden hearing loss, etc).  A drug isn't "safe" just because the FDA approved it & doctors prescribe it like candy.  I wouldn't recommend that any guy try Viagra before LOVE UNLIMITED (http://LoveUnlimitedUSA.com).
