How long does Viagra last?

I am on a new med that doesn't leave me limp, but does hinder a full erection and at times lose it before its time.

If I take a viagra to see a provider for an hour, how long will  I be hard for?

Has anybody ever split the pill, does that still work, but cut the duration of the woodie?

It's kind of difficult to be horney as hell, but have the problem, I really could use your input!

By a fluke of fate, a doc friend in the pharmaceutical biz gave me about 120 100 Mg of Viagra, one month after distribution began, all legal with a prescription.
At least four pals use it also for enhancement and duration.
I've been through some 400 tabs since with no noticeable issues, and have perused the medical studies as they came out.

The bottom line, though, go to CIALUS as soon as you can for improved performance, but you may have to order it from the UK or Netherlands for a while, several months.

Response varies with each patient. Some men see green.
Others have flushing. Men taking nitrates may die.
I'm a normal healthy guy and take it an hour before Mass, a half pill. EVERYBODY splits them! That's a no-brainer.

The duration is usually 4 hours.
This info is all on medical and Pfizer cites with very simple searches via Google.com.
The need to see a doc at first is vastly overrated.
The Net questionnaires seem to be more thorough.
The compounded variety that you put under the tongue works even better. Tried and switched to that.
Now Cialus is available with fewer side effects and much better duration.
Switched to that recently and lo and behold it works well.
The best of all will be Cialus compounded for taking under the tongue.
See a doc the first time or two, a board certified urologist and impotence specialist, and you will be more comfortable with having covered the bases.
You are welcome.

Viagra will last for a few hours. You can split the pill depending on the mg level of that pill. I have 100mg and split them in half and its not a problem. Somebody said they've split 100mg into thirds. You may get a headache afterwards too. Its a small price to pay. Good luck.

Tried it as an experiment and found that 1/4 of a 100mg pill more than did the trick. I did notice some flushing but it's not a bother. My only complaint is that I had some difficulty getting "over the top" on the first round and nearly impossible for round 2. There also seemed to be some loss of sensitivity as well. I don't have any performance problems so I discontinued its use long ago.

From personal experience I'd say that 1/3 of 100mg tablet is more than enough. I take it about an hour before I expect to need to and it lasts at least 4 hours. I once took 100 mg just to see what would happen. It seemed to last longer, but I was bright red from the flushing.
I get terrible heartburn from it if I don't take a ranitidine (Zantac) before hand.
By the way, I bought a generic version from overseas (was billed in England, but shipped from India). Reputable Indian drug company and it works just fine. The price was under $4 per tablet.
Can't wait to try Cialis or Levitra. Now if we could just get an aphrodesiac for the ladies (wives, that is)......

I tried Viagra a couple of times to see if there was any aphrodisiac effect, or change in my sensitivity, interest or performance. No change.

I think for ladies, until we get our own "blue pill" that works,  staying with the old standard of a glass of wine or two is a great aphrodisiac....especially those times when we want an overall lessening of inhibitions and ripping off clothes with abandon.  :)

Remember that Ogden Nash one-liner: Candy is dandy but liquor is quicker!   :)

The maximal effects of Viagra will last from 2-4 hours.  Usually the effects peak 45-90 minutes after taking.   You can sometimes feel residual effects up to 12+ hours later.  One important factor:  the onset of action is adversely affected by a large meal (especially a high fat meal).  Do not eat a big meal and then take the Viagra.

Depending on your level of erectile dysfunction, you may be able to get by with a lower dose:  some guys who really don't have much dysfunction might get results with 10-25 mg, some guys will need a full 100 mg tablet or even more.  You might need to experiment.  Since the pills cost the same no matter what the size, you should get the 100 mg tablets and try cutting them.

I would NOT recommend buying "knock off" or "generic" Viagra tablets from overseas (often made in India).  These are not subject to the quality controls of the US FDA, and could be less potent or less safe.  They are also blatant rip-offs of the Pfizer patent.  It is not worth the risk, IMHO, just to save a few dollars.

that sounds a lot like the standard bla bla corporate mantra.
Poor starving Pfizer, making a mere billion-plus a year from Viagra. Who is being ripped? you, or Pfizer?
Those $12 pills now cost less than a $ to make.
Corporate shareholders are just getting richer and buying more silly toys and politicians.
The British courts declared the Viagra patent invalid for obviousness, incidentally, last I read. The Court of Appeal affirmed that decision. Reference below.

Viagra is not that difficult to make for a PhD chemist.
The manufacturers in India and China should have no difficulty reproducing it and Cialus. They have to make an equal or better product in order to achieve and maintain sales.
"Generic" means the same product, but the consumer does not have to pay for all of the trademark advertising and sales hypes.
Surely you don't think that the FDA monitors Pfizer's production process after the drug is approved?
"Knock off" is not a term used in chemistry and pharmaceuticals except as part of the corporate party line.

Your post proves you know nothing about the pharmaceutical industry, and so I won't even try to point out your errors.

Chrissy...you are 100% correct for normal women...which you obviously are...however in women who have difficulties reaching orgasms because of SSRI (paxil, prozac, zoloft) type drugs...viagra can be very helpful and has been evaluated in the medical literature...your friendly GYN...
