I just came back from a dinner with a few friends. There was a discussion about "Venus Butterfly" as depicted in LA Law, long ago [a variation of cunnilingus]. In the show, it was never explained what it was, and I read an abridged version of the real thing, never quite figured it out!

The term for performing oral sex on a woman would be cunnilingus. It's origin is from the Latin lingere, to lick, and cunnus, vagina. Actually, cunnus means "sheath," but you can see how that might have come to mean "vagina."

The joke of that episode (and the several follow up episodes) was that no one would tell out loud. It was passed onto Stuart (the rich but nebbish and nerdy tax lawyer of the bunch) by a client who was even mousier than Stuart. Stuart wanted to know why this mousy guy kept getting great chicks.
