The one place you think a guy could get an answer to his question from PROFESSIONALS no less and all the responses he gets are at best remotely related to his question! We should be ashamed. For the record I don't KNOW the butterfly technique. But I noticed a few years ago that if I placed fingers at the edges of the outer labia and applied gentle separating pressure the resulting treat resembled a butterfly. With this presentation I focused a LOT of attention on  her delicate wings and usually had great results for my efforts.  When my girlfriends were very excited this presentation also offered great access to their engorged clitoris'.  So that's my butterfly until someone comes along and tells me what the real one is.  Come on girls - somebody has to know the answer to this question!

Folks,

I just came back from a dinner with a few friends.  There was a discussion about "Venus Butterfly" as depicted in LA Law, long ago [a variation of  cunnilingus].  In the show, it was never explained what it was, and I read an abridged version of the real thing, never quite figured it out!

I am sure this is the right "medium" to get enlightened as to precisely what it is!  I hope I would hear from both male and female members ... please explain it with clarity.

Thank you.

The term for performing oral sex on a woman would be cunnilingus. It's origin is from the Latin lingere, to lick, and cunnus, vagina. Actually, cunnus means "sheath," but you can see how that might have come to mean "vagina."

I found this to be interesting on the subject:
"a gentleman who expects fellatio on a weekly basis, tells me he doesn't have to perform cunnilingus on his wife because he's able to give her orgasms during intercourse"

What do you think?
Kisses & licks........( all over for everybody )

I would say that the gentleman sounds very goal-oriented. Sex is about the journey, not the goal.

How about a wife who is willing to do fellatio, but won't let her husband go down on her because she thinks that is disgusting..

Go figure...

Another term that I have heard to describe DATY is called

"Licking a Lotus Flower" - origin Japan. I am not sure if it is licking or kissing, and I am probably screwing it up, but it is a very sensuous and pretty term.

I guess I am living proof that you are wrong. I don't go down on my wife and she has not cheated on me. It is not because I don't want to.. She won't let me. So guess, what, I am hobbying and exploring this activity on my own.  Kind of turns things upside down on your assumptions. Can't steriotype or generalize in this area. Sexuality is such an individual thing.. One person's music is another person's noice. Make's life interesting...

The joke of that episode (and the several follow up episodes) was that no one would tell out loud.  It was passed onto Stuart (the rich but nebbish and nerdy tax lawyer of the bunch) by a client who was even mousier than Stuart.  Stuart wanted to know why this mousy guy kept getting great chicks.  The guy told Stuart the "secret" of the Venus Butterfly.  His girlfriend/wife (not sure whether this was before or after the characters' marriage) was so turned on she passed out for a moment.

If only a man knows the secret of the greatest sex move of all he would have whatever woman he wants.  Of course, that's unattainable.
