We’ve talked about the definition of an upscale gentleman. So what defines an elite lady? Is it based strictly on rates? If so, what’s the minimum that makes a lady elite? Is it based on type of ad? Having a website? Expensive photography? Top of the line clothing? High end incall? Dependability? Communication? Having what it takes to get along with all the different personalities?  

The reason I’m asking is twofold. One, an old friend of mine and I were talking about this very thing. I had told her I needed her elite reference for another elite lady. She wrote back positively, but also smiling at my definition of elite. She said there’s no way the new lady is elite, based on her location and rate. We had quite a chuckle over our two different definitions.  

The second reason is the new lady response to my inquiry. Her ad clearly stated her earliest starting time, and her minimum session time for a new gentleman. Based on my time available, I asked for her earliest, and her minimum. When her reply came, the earliest starting time, and minimum session time was different than her ad. Later and longer. Upsell is one of the oldest tricks in the book, and it was totally unexpected from an elite lady. Of course I won’t agree to the upsell, but my definition of what is elite has definitely changed. Personally, and I'm sure there will be some who disagree, I think that what makes a provider "elite" is a combination of the following things:

* A fantastic reputation (both with clients and with other providers)

* Ease of contact (all advertised phone numbers/email addresses/websites work and she gets back to inquiries within a reasonable amount of time)

* A professional looking, easy to navigate website (or at the very least, informative and easy to understand ads)

* Appropriately dressed for every occasion (of course, style is a personal choice... but she should turn heads, not raise eyebrows)

* Straightforward rates (no upselling, last minute changes to specials or discounts, etc.)

* Total discretion (no gossiping about other clients or providers on the clock or off)

* Respect for other people's time (no last minute location changes, never late without notice, no cutting appointments short without reason, reasonable response times to contact from clients and providers)

* A pleasant attitude (personality is one thing, but no provider-- unless it's something the client has asked for specifically-- should come into an appointment obviously upset, exhausted, bored, preoccupied, or irritated)

* Impeccable hygiene (Duh!)

* Great conversational skills (You should be able to hold an intelligent conversation, whether it's for 10 minutes for a whole weekend)  

 
Things like how expensive your wardrobe is, how educated you are, or how much you charge doesn't have anything to do with what makes you an "elite" escort, in my book. Those things might speak to how sophisticated or high maintenance you are, but an unprofessional $1,000/hr. provider with a bad attitude is NOT elite, Louboutins and Agent Provocateur lingerie or not.

Yes, this is often nothing more than branding & marketing.  

But I have met a few providers who really believe that what they offer (whether this means simply themselves, what's on their menu or how good they are at it, their amenities or the total package) makes them elite. That they truly fit this definition.  

Personally, I find women with that much confidence very, very sexy.

From my observations, however,  the word itself is misused just as frequently as it is used correctly.

You said that you and another person had "different definitions" of what it means.  Being a word-nerd, I cannot resist the compulsion to provide the literal definition for you.  

Elite in the context of a profession or occupation means the best of the best; the most skilled or accomplished at what that person does.  The cream of the crop.  

However, in this realm, the connotation is often that of exclusivity, a certain "high end" image, and/or relative expensiveness. If she does not have a day-to-day schedule or calendar, but rather a general statement that she's available from 7am-7pm Mon-Fri..... her ACTUAL schedule and availability are subject to change.  If she does list specific hours of availability for each & every day, then I'd guess that either something came up and she did not update her schedule; or she already has an earlier date.    

As to the minimum booking?  Either she needs to update her ads/site as to her new minimum, or she just doesn't want to do a shorter date on that particular day or, for whatever reason, with you.  Whatever the case may be, I personally feel she should have explained it to you.  

It sounds like your definition of "elite" for a provider includes behaviors & manners which are often termed "classy".    
As up-selling is not usually considered to be very classy, I understand your surprise.  

Please don't make up definitions for words on your own! Please!  But rather, be aware of HOW this word is most typically used in the providing world.

As for me, it's a pretty fine line between that "confidence" that Debbie finds so sexy and "pretentiousness" that I find to be definitely NOT sexy.  

Personally, I have read so many thousands of internet ads and websites that terms like "elite" don't even register with me, no more than a "new and improved" label is likely to make me choose one bar of soap over another, I guess I am completely inured to this type of marketing. It's neither a turn on or a turn off, it doesn't even register onto my consciousness at this point.

When I played video games, I was elite because I was number one. That word doesn't belong in this hobby. But some people use it for some sense of entitlement. Bleh boring.

(2) A diverse group of clients willing to pay the rates; and
(3) Virtually all of the clients reporting the highest evaluations in both appearance and performance.

        Now a lady meeting all requirements may not be your personal idea of “elite,” but, if we look at it objectively, these are the defining criteria. Obviously charging a lot is meaningless unless the market is willing to pay and then validates the charge by post session evaluations.

       And sometimes you can catch an elite lady before she raises her rates (good luck); or the lady lacks the confidence to charge what the market will bear;  or you may catch her on the rare day she is off (bad luck).  But, over the long term, these three factors will coincide and entitle the lady to the elite classification

Its all just a way for some to think they are better than others. The use of it, or the none use of it, doesn't not affect my decision process in the slightest.

reviewer I know has seen her and says she is "elite" then that will carry ten times more weight with me than if the advertiser herself is making the claim.  I think all of us who have been hobbyists for many years have had our share of disappointments with providers who called themselves "elite", whereas, we have also had fabulous experiences with providers who were a little more humble and made no such claims.  Many hobbyists have come to regard "elite" as just a euphemism for "expensive."  So you can see how silly an ad would read if you substitute the word "expensive" for "elite" in the ads.

I think elite corresponds to what you can charge and that corresponds to demand.  Demand might be high for popular porn stars, or any escort approaching super-model looks.  

There is one other category of elite, and that is one who is known in upper circles and maintains a price point to indicate to upscale customers that she isn't slumming with the disease ridden hoi polloi.  How she got known in those circles could be again from looks, or fame, or simply a lucky alignment of the stars
