I am of course also one of those guys who most definitely am not paying for "time and companionship" I don't make any secret about what I am willing to pay for, I pay for No Strings Attached sex. If strings are added or sex withheld money gets immediately taken out of the equation.

 
Getting back to Court's question, speaking from my own experience and my own experience only, I have no problems at all paying a providers rate when we are seeing each other professionally, however I am very jaded where it comes to providers claiming "real" feelings while continuing to charge for sex. The moment you start calling me your boyfriend and start putting strings on me is the moment I am going to stop paying you for sex. For the record, I quit trying to impress women a long time ago. I can pay for all the sex I could ever want for, and as for having a relationship I have no desire to "provide" for a woman, if she likes me and I like her, then fine. If not, that's ok too. Remember, women have been fighting for equal rights for decades, well that's what I give them. I am still a bit old fashioned, I almost never allow a woman to pick up a check, but I am hardly looking for a woman who plans on being dependent on me. For a woman to keep my interest she has to have more to offer than just sex.
