I estimate that it will be about 3-6 months before we get that close.

There were 3,831 new reviews posted in the past two weeks, which is, on average, about 274 new reviews per day.
A conservative low and high estimate range is maybe 200-350 new reviews per day.
Being 35,161 reviews away from the target of 999,980, it should take between 100 to 176 days before reaching that target.

Never thought about it.

Plus, the prize is of no benefit to me because I've got more than 500 days of free VIP and review often enough so I'll be able to keep free VIP for as long as I'm interested in the site.
