Reviewers: Is TER accepting your reviews with only CL link?

Within the past 10 days I have had a review approved with only a Craigslist link and then today had one rejected because that was the only link.  I had one rejected last year for that reason.

When I asked management in the past for an explanation, I did not receive one.  Today's response merely cited the "rule".

Belowd is a partial list of profiles with recent "modified" dates that contain only a Craigslist link.  These are under San Diego and Orange County.

I wonder if the acceptance or rejection depends on who the moderator is.

Guys, please post your experience with submission of reviews that have only a Craigslist link and tell us the city so we can figure out whether it may be "moderator discretion".  Thanks.

Profiles with only CL links:

SAN DIEGO:

ORANGE COUNTY:

What good is a CL link if it expires a few days after the review is published?  If the lady doesn't have a web site, an Eros or City vibe listing there is no way to link to her photos.
I know some of these get approved as I have seen them with the "report new website" disclaimer where the web address should be. Totally f'n useless if you ask me....

A CL ad is a quick and easy way for a gal to get started.  Once she gains knowledge about other options from a client or another provider, then she can put information and photos up at a free or pay site.

I applaude sites that will accept CL links because it allows a gal to "get her foot in the door".  That's what we want, isn't it?  More selection, which in turn should increase competition, and hopefully keep prices "reasonable".

Suggestion:  If I see a new gal on CL who interests me, I "save as" a web page (single file).  I have the information even if the ad is flagged down or expires.  I check the new TER profiles daily and if the gal has only a CL link, I do the "save as web page" thing so I have the photos and information.

(Expiration dates vary: LA is good for 7 days; Orange County for 45 days.)

But right now CL is pretty much useless. It's very easy to set up a yahoo page if you don't want to pay for Eros or City vibe ads. Even when I do find a prospect on CL I don't call anymore if I can't cross-reference to something else.

I wonder if the acceptance or rejection depends on who the moderator is.

TER's moderators have no say in what reviews get posted, we are merely volunteer hobbyists.  The folks that have the power to accept, or reject, your review are paid staff.

Reviewing a CL link is always risky.  The link has to be active when the person passing judgment on the review looks at it.

Given, the nature of CL, where ads are dropped or flagged, or expire after a set number of days, the ad you responded will be gone and the link will be useless to others.

Let's face it. If all she has is a CL page then I wouldn't call her anyway unless she's got lots of reviews since CL is in bed with LE.

If CL were "in bed" with LE, the "erotic services" section would no longer exist.  While there have been a few reported situations of CL responding to LE inquiries/warrants, the examples seem to be few.

I'll make a prediction, and it is not likely to happen in the decade or two I may have left:

Just as CNN beaming its signal around the world had an effect on the fall of the Iron Curtain, the effect of CL allowing erotic service ads and women advertising on other internet sites will result in a change in the public attitude and laws regarding pay-4-play sex.

I guess the fact that you've read the stories of CL helping LE isn't enough. The fact is all they had to do is say "no we're not going to help them" but instead they chose to. Maybe "in bed with" is a little strong but it doesn't mean what they are doing is alright.

You appear to have no knowledge of the law.  If CL is presented with a subpena they must comply.  Why do you think TER now has its servers overseas?

Here is a quote from Craig Newmark in the link about the Seattle bust in the following Legal Corner discussion.

Craig Newmark:

"We are a democracy ... and we find we can trust our community," he said. "I don't know what the situation is like in Seattle, but we would prefer that [police] go after violent criminals or crooked congressmen."
