How do ages get updated?

I apologize if this is a newbie question.

I am planning to meet with a beautiful lady, who travels throughout the country.  As is my habit, I am doing my due diligence, and reading her profile, checking out her various ads/web pages and reading her three year history of reviews.

Many of her reviews suggest that she is 5+ years older IRL than her profile states/photos suggest.  This is, in no way, going to deter me from seeing her.  She'd be a knockout at twice the stated age.  But, I'm wondering if anyone knows how/when the age on a provider's profile gets updated.

Thanks

Sometimes admin changes it, sometimes members contact  support, sometimes providers themselves

Read recent  reviews , contact members who reviewed her.

Examples:
Years since first review + 18.
Links to her own ad or website that states her age.

I'm not aware of any time that TER has accepted a monger's opinion that "she's much older."

As others note, getting the profile age updated is problematic unless the provider actually makes the request.

While I suspect many of the profiles are created with inaccurate ages it would not be difficult for TER to put a maintenance process in place to provide an automated update. The age ranges are 5 years (mostly -- don't really pay that much attention). They could simply check how old the profile is since created or last updated and 5 years has passed simply move the age to the next age group. Might need to add a simply "last updated date" somewhere to make people aware but discussion boards could also provide the information when anyone asks.

There is no way to determine on TER. Age listed is a general range and is only updated at the request of the provider, which I did do when I turned into the "41-45" range. The only site that I am aware of where you can have your age verified and locked in would be P411, but even this is voluntary and not a requirement. I do have my actual age listed on Tryst also, but you can also list a range on that site as well if you want to.

They don’t, or so rarely that Haley’s comet passes over twice between updates.

Either the age stated is in dispute (maybe never updated since a listing for her was created).  Or, the age is hidden/obscured/withheld (e.g. P411 - "Age hidden").

As I said, I'd see her just the same.  But, it seems dishonest to those clients for whom it might make a difference.

a provider’s age can be updated via submitting a Problem Report, and that can be done by someone other than the provider in question as long as there’s evidence to corroborate the change. For example, a link to a P411 profile or the provider’s web site that states her age, or a post from the provider on TER in which she stated her age.

update their age on their profiles, but customers and reviewers can't unless the updated age is on their website and you can provide a link to admin.  In most cases, though, Providers will UNDERSTATE their age in their web ad.

A few years ago, a San Diego provider was advertising on her website that she was 26, but had reviews going back 9 years, which would have made her 17 when she got her first TER review.  Someone pointed this out to Admin and her profile was removed because of the underage reviews, but put back up after she changed her web age to say she was 30 now.

Laroche's method of just checking how many years ago she got her first review against her claimed age in her current website is the easiest way to find a discrepancy.

Steve, this is good to know, but seems rather petty, like ratting on your neighbor to the HOA for having a tomato plant on their deck. I am unsure if this is the best use of your time, but hey, you do you.

but no one in the HOA has ratted on me.  Yet.

It would be great if all providers would keep their TER profiles up to date. Unfortunately, many don’t. Many people take up their time posting useful information in these forums.  Sometimes people post here because they’re washing clothes and need to do something to pass the time. 😉

When someone—a provider or another member—takes a minute or two to update info like age in a provider’s profile, I know I appreciate it, and I bet others do too.

If a provider feels that someone making an effort to ensure that up to date info is in her profile is “ratting” on her, I have to wonder why she’d feel that way—unless maybe she prefers to mislead prospective clients with inaccurate info about herself?

No matter what you do to verify an age..............You can't do it. If you ask the person when they were born (They can & Will lie to you).

Many of us older gents prefer mature providers, so having the right age is inclusive rather than exclusive.  For those customers who are a little younger, they are less apt to waste your time or give you a bad review afterward if you were forthright about your real age.

I just celebrated my 45th & I update my profile here on a regular basis. It’s f you do not help the community by reporting problems with providers profiles it just never gets updated. The highest age available for providers is 50+. I see nothing wrong with being honest. Honestly. Lol Smile for me!
