Fairly new and it probably has been discussed or researched.  What is the profile of a "hobbyist". Age, marital status, sexual prefferences, proffesion, frequency with a provider etc.  I read the post where one provider said average age is in 50's.  Also what about the gentlemen like me who don't consider it a hobby like some but friends with benefits sort of thing and don't see a great many providers.  I greatly enjoy the participation in the "hobby" and enjoy reading with interest the insight shared on he disscussion boards and reviews.  Thanks in advance to all for your input.

Im just an average guy.  I work as a chauffer.  I don't like the bar scene and I lack confidence to walk up to a girl in the mall and ask her out.  I met some amazing providers and not so amazing.

My average guests are in their mid 30's to mid 50's with extremes being 19 and 83yo for me. I would say 75% are married or otherwise involved, I usually see a lot of "professionals"...i.e. docs, lawyers, executive management, ect but do cater to others as well. Avg guest sees me monthly, some as frequent as 2x a week, some as little as 1x a yr.

If we are talking "Average" hobbyist I bet it is a Middle Aged, Married, White Male, Overweight, and in the top half of earning bracket for age.  

Also Morally flexible and open to new experiences in many area of life.

Sheesh, talk about pegging me.  The only other thing is that I like the idea of being with women that are FAR prettier than I'd be able to snag on my skills alone (assuming that's what I've got..LOL)

It doesn't matter if you consider it a hobby or not, that's just a euphemism.  Of course you can be friendly with the women you meet this way, and may even become friends over time, but make no mistake.  If you are paying her, she is not a "friend with benefits".

You nailed me with that one.  I was talking with my ex-wife about how many much sex I could have had before I met her, but I was too insecure to pursue it, or too naive to even know when it was being offered.  Looking back, some of those situations are so obvious today, I still sometimes kick myself for being such an idiot.
