I'm too free with my personal information, and it does come back to haunt me sometimes. I think I'm a little more careful with the providers.
The last provider gave me one little bit of information that I was able to easily use to find out tons of things about her: where she lives, where she works, where she went to school, her friends, and more. In this day and age, with everything that's available on the internet, one has to be very careful. I wouldn't act on that information in any way, or even let her know I found it (don't want her thinking I'm a stalker), but someone else might.
I can see why providers wouldn't want to share anything. I am partially guilty because I can't help asking questions, but there is always a concern that an irresponsible hobbyist will put the information in a review. I've seen it too many times.
I never include in a review any personal info that provider shares with me in a review. Not her home state. Not her intended profession when she leaves the hobby. Not what languages she speaks. Not her ethnicity (unless included in her bio information). Not descriptions of her tattoos (only generally "heavily inked" "some ink" ect.). Even if her identity is still concealed, someone who knows her personally may be reading that review and even non-sensitive personal information could reveal her identity.
I'm the sort of person who, when asked "How ya doing?", the asker will regret having asked…an hour later, he'll be checking his watch, and looking for the exits..
I tend to "settle in" with providers, usually going for repeats with my favorites rather than constantly trying to sample every provider in town. Inevitably, I end up learning real names, where they live, how they came to be in the biz, etc…
Do I affirmatively *want* to know more about my favorite providers? I don't know that I want it; I think it can't be avoided--especially if you're like me, and actually enjoy some conversation before, after, or in-between.
Every time I see my Provider, I learn a little more about her Personal Life. I never ask her to tell me. She just tells me things about what's going on in her Life and sometimes even about other Clients. I guess it's a sign of Trust on her part towards me.
Knowing what she told you, why did you bother to find out all that personal info about her, especially if you were going to do nothing with it. Seems a bit creepy.
The extreme ends of the hobbyist/provider relationship... 1) Hobbyist pays for an hour, stays an hour, gets what he needs done and walks away. They can have ATFs and still maintain this type of transaction. They are not really interested in the provider's personal life. The provider is there to PROVIDE a service they are paying for. 2) Hobbyist is interested in the provider not just as a sex object, but as a person as well. They enjoy chatting with and learning about the provider. Often for them, the "connection" enhances the BCD activities. As they see a provider more times a certain level of trust is built and the provider may feel comfortable opening up more.
Calling her your ATF is bad enough IMO, but calling a woman who is in the business of selling sex for money "your provider" seems a bit creepy to me, as well as many others here.
